A Time Capsule of 1978 Nostalgia in 4K UHD Bliss…

This Show has never looked better. I don’t think the producers in 1978 were thinking about watching it on an 8k UHDTV with 20 Atmos speakers immersing our faces with jaw dropping tech.
Originally most of us watched this on a 20” JVC color TV equipped with one 4” speaker. Anything bigger would have exposed the poor NTSC 480i 15.75 KHz signal that was standard for all.
Fast forward nearly 50 years, the fact we get to see this in 4K UHD glory is a gift. It looks fantastic. There are scenes with more film grain than others. The special effects have been cleaned up significantly. The sound is as best as you can ask for. The DTS HD 2.1 surround is good as it’s gonna get. Even “Star Wars” had a 2.0 stereophonic track originally aired in the theater.
Overall, I’m really happy with what we got here. It would have been nice to get a digital copy, or even some special features, but what you do get is a quality disc set. Well done.

This disc blew my center channel up-wow..Just wow

This was a vey special film for me as I went to “Joliet Catholic” where a lot of this film was made. I’ve seen this on many formats but this 4K disc is by far the ultimate best I’ve ever seen this ever. The lossless audio was so that I had to buy a pair of C-clamps to repair my center channel speaker that had separated its front plate from the box that enclosed it. (By the way the repair worked very well- I used a high strength flexible polyurethane epoxy, clamped it down for 2 days)...but I digress, the lossless audio on this disc blows the streamed version away.

There are many 4K UHD discs on the market today...but are they worthy of the hardware you just spent for a 4K or even an 8k setup?
This Disc is reference quality and worth every penny to be in your collection. It is on many top ten lists of discs to purchase..and a “must have”-to be in your collection... sure you could stream it...but you will lose clarity...people who understand “lossless audio” and “uncompressed video” will understand.
Bottom line- Great disc, then ask yourself...”Are you not Entertained?”...

Great Performance

I ran cat6 Ethernet through the attic to the living room where my home theater setup resides. I connected my Apple TV 4K, Lg 65C9OLED, Oppo UDP-203, and Marantz NR1710 Receiver. The thing is there are a lot of Ethernet switchers out there and this one for the price is worth every dollar. It’s simple to set up, just plug and play, and provides a solid network hard lined into your system. For the price I find it hard to believe other brands charge up to 10 times more for this same solution. Sure, you could go wireless, but I prefer to save a few hundred dollars. Great product, I highly recommend this option.

Full-size and fully featured, with the washer on the bottom and dryer on top, the sleek single unit LG WashTower takes up half the space, giving you room to add a sink, a folding table or whatever you like. But unlike conventional stacked pairs, LG~s Center Control panel is perfectly positioned with both washer and dryer controls at just the right height. Built-in intelligence makes laundry less of a chore by taking out the guesswork, while top-of-the-line innovations put advanced cleaning power within reach.
Do you have specks on the venting location?
The gas version of this stackable has 2 options for venting. Rear venting and side venting. Because of the gas configuration only the left side has that option(looking at the LG head on from the front) because that’s where the gas line assembly is. On the electric dryer version there is no gas line assembly so you have 3 options-rear, left side and right side. All ducting is standard 4 inches. Lg has a kit for a small fortune…or you can piece together a generic ducting solution on parts anywhere from $5-$20.
Venting codes are publicly posted. From what I can tell anything goes but you can actually vent your unit too short and violate that code.
