Hard workers, some process improvements needed

I'm going to preface this with the fact that I realize there's still a global pandemic and labor shortages, so this is not a complaint per se. I would like to point out some things that I wish had gone better, so Best Buy can do a better job. These guys were working really hard -- they arrived 10 minutes before 6pm, which was the very end of the window and from the sounds of things, they weren't done for the day. They had to haul both old units out of the basement and bring the new ones back down and install them, which took about an hour. It almost seemed like they were the only people doing delivery for the whole area -- I hope they are getting paid decently. Onto the issues: my dryer has steam functionality, but that wasn't hooked up. The required hose kit does not include a third hose for a steam dryer, so it's definitely not the fault of the delivery guys -- this should be something that gets planned for. I ended up doing that myself. Also, the return process for unneeded items -- like the dryer duct I didn't use -- is annoying. Overall, I'm satisfied and glad I didn't have to haul this stuff myself.

This review is more about the experience of being forced to buy this product. My existing exhaust hose needed to be used due to the constraints of my space. It would be nice if it could be rejected at the delivery, but instead, you have to haul them back to the store. When I went to the store, they looked up the purchase and told me I had not actually paid for this item -- or they couldn't find that I was charged on the order. So I shrugged and left it at the store because I didn't need it. After checking my online receipt at home, it was clear that I was charged, so now I have to go try to argue with someone about it.

Great features, nice color, dim display

I replaced a 15 year old LG dryer with this that was still functioning perfectly, so I have good hopes for the longevity of this one. Like the review I wrote for the matching washer, I love the color, and enjoy having the steam functions that my old dryer didn't have. The display panel text could use some improvement -- it's too dim to read easily when light isn't shining directly on it. Not so much a problem when I learn where the functions are, but lighted display text would be nice. The ThinQ app was fast and easy to set up -- love that I can ask Google "how much time is left on the dryer?" -- and getting push alerts when it's done is very useful. The only thing missing from the ThinQ app is the ability to create a custom cycle.

Great features; dim display

This is my second LG washer -- the first one lasted 15 years before having any issues at all. In this case, it was a broken water pump that I probably could have replaced, but didn't want to bother. I've had this washer a week now, and I'm happy with it. The steam and wash functions are great and I like the dark grey color. My only complaints are with the control panel -- 1. bumping against it lightly will cause the wash to pause (annoying when you're using the top to fold laundry on). 2. Unless there is direct bright light shining on the front, it is hard to read the text of the options. That'll become less of a problem I guess when I learn where they all are. I'm really happy with the ThinQ smart features -- setting up and using the app was fast and easy, including the Google integration. Samsung really could take some pointers from LG about how to write software!

I had no idea these things existed until a couple of days ago when it dawned on me that while I don't have wired ethernet in my house, I do have unused cable outlets in every room. My fiber connection comes into the house in the basement and while I have a mesh wifi network, I never can get consistently good speeds. I googled "ethernet over coax" and found these! I was skeptical at first, because I've tried powerline ethernet with no success. However, these just work! I'm getting about 500 down/600 up.

Better than the internet says, but...

I wanted this air conditioner but was worried given all of the negative reviews; however, the Wirecutter gave it a decent review, so I decided to go for it. First off, getting the window exhaust in the window is, well, a breeze. Unlike a lot of portable exhaust systems, this one is not a flimsy piece of plastic -- it is a housing that fits easily and stays solid under the window weight. There are two things I do not like about the exhaust system: the solid part of the hose sticks way out of the unit, making it difficult to tuck into the corner of a room; and, the connections to the unit and the window port are not as snug as they should be. The unit itself runs quietly and has cooled down the space quickly; I'd say it's comparable to others in that regard. Finally, the "smart" features are not the worst, but could be better. I was able to get it connected to my wifi with only one small hiccup. The connection to Google assistant is ridiculous and will probably prove to be useless, as you have to say "Hey Google, talk to Frigidaire" and then wait while the Frigidaire app reads off a 50 word-long spiel about what and how you can ask it before letting you actually say what you want to do. Hopefully they will make a proper Works With Google Assistant integration in the future. Aesthetically it looks like a cross between R2D2 and a trashcan, but it's a lot smaller than the box it comes in, thankfully.

I've had a few security cameras throughout the past few years, mostly from D-Link and Samsung. Most of these failed hardest on software. This is not the case with Arlo. The software is simple and easy to use, from setup to viewing. The main attraction is that the cameras were wireless; I had heard stories of really bad lag, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The batteries are losing about 10% charge per week (for the camera that is outside and farthest away), so that is acceptable as well. The motion sensors are a bit too sensitive; however, the alerts can be filtered with the optional subscription service. I'm happy with this purchase.
