Are there advantages of voice mail over an answering machine feature? Pardon my ignorance, but what is voice mail?
I haven't used an answering machine in years but voice mail does not erase itself, loose the message, can save messages with less possibility of erasure. Messages can easily be checked remotely. During a power outage you can still receive voicemail and an answering machine won't work. You can pick up voicemail using any phone not as easy with an answering machine.
