Another great release from Arrow. Along with Malatesta's Carnival of Blood, Witch Who Came from the Sea is the best of the best of their American Horror Project collection. Don't let the original poster art fool you into thinking this is some goofy monster movie. It is more of a drama than anything, and a very dark one at that. The Blu-ray is loaded with bonus materials and the film looks incredible. Highly recommend but certainly one to brace yourself for before watching.

Sledgehammer is certainly not for everyone. But this is one of the best movies to put on late at night with a group of friends with the volume cranked past 11. For a movie that has never looked particularly "good," this DVD has taken great care to retain the grimy static that makes this film feel like it was beamed in from an alien planet's pirate TV network.

One of Hooper's most misunderstood and greatest achievements. This disc does the wild colors and images justice. Highly recommend picking this up! Lifeforce has aged incredibly well.

Quite possibly the greatest horror film of all-time. The Blu-ray looks and sounds incredible. An essential film for any horror or general film enthusiast. It doesn't just hold up, it keeps getting better with every passing year.
A meteorite crashes to earth during a torrential thunderstorm, bringing with it a slimy, three-headed alien beast that craves human meat and gives birth to hundreds of eel-like spawn. The monster takes up residence in the basement of a family home, devouring the parents without anyone else's knowledge. The oldest son Pete (Michael Robert Coleman) is a science major in college, and his younger brother Charles (Charles George Hildebrandt) is a horror movie fanatic who loves to dress up like his favorite monsters and scare his visiting aunt and uncle. When an electrician arrives to check the fuse box, Charles follows him into the basement in costume for a little fun, but instead discovers the hideous alien and what's left of his mother's corpse. Meanwhile, two of Pete's friends come over for a study session, bringing along the remains of a dead alien spawn that they found on the side of the road. Baffled, they dissect it in an effort to establish its origin, but it seems to defy everything they've ever been taught in class. Their intellectual curiosity is abandoned when they find Pete's uncle being eaten by a swarm of alien spawn, and from there on it's a fight for survival against the monster.

Deadly Spawn is bonkers. Absolutely impressive effects and it delivers with everything you want in a movie about alien space worms taking over Earth. DVD looks great, but would love an upgrade to Blu-ray someday.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, literary enfant terrible Norman Mailer shocked the film world when he decided to step behind the camera for three experimental motion pictures, with technical assistance from cinema v~rit~ pioneers Richard Leacock and D.A. Pennebaker. Though long commercially unreleased on video, all three of the Mailer features appear back-to-back in this box set from The Criterion Collection's Eclipse series. Wild 90 (1967) stars Mailer himself, Mickey Knox and Buzz Farber as a cadre of gangsters holed up in a New York City apartment, where they spend the entire movie boozing, brawling, and arguing. Beyond the Law (1968) is a far more conventional cop drama starring Mailer, Rip Torn and others as Irish cops and set in a New York police station and a nearby bar. Finally, Maidstone (1970) stars the

A fascinating set of often frustrating films. Maidstone is truly one of a kind, for better and for worse, but the other films in the collection are far less interesting. This set is not for everyone, but for people interested in independent filmmaking, this is definitely worth a look.

Grindhouse has given this film the release it deserves. Great special features, complete soundtrack on a bonus CD, and a beautiful presentation of the film. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend this one!

Kino's Bava releases are always solid. This proto-slasher looks and sounds great on the Blu-ray and the film still holds up. Definitely recommend picking up this disc if you're a horror fan!

The vinyl sounds fantastic and the music itself ranks among Finn's best. This solo trilogy has been an incredibly special cycle of music and I recommend it for Hold Steady fans and newcomers alike.
