Best of the bunch

Tim Burton is an excellent director, and his version of the 1st of the series is the best. Great look to the production, Nicholson, a lot of fun as the Joker. (But obviously has ben outdone over the recent years by better performances) and steals the show. Keaton a little flat as Batman, and Basinger a waste in a throw away feminine role. As for the 4k version, it's fine, but I do not see significant differences between that and the original blu ray, so be cautious with an upgrade. So, enjoy it, it's fun, but that's about it.

Okay action series.

Liam Neeson is a good actor, but these films really waste his talent. The action is good, and so is Neeson, But the plot li es used here are beyond stupid and some of the nastiness of the plot borders on disgusting. The "woman in peril" syndrome, all over again. And to start with, if his daughter wasn't so stupid, and played so stupidly, the movie would never exist. If you close off your brain and watch only, without thinking, they can be fun. But otherwise, skip it. 1st is the best, obviously, the next 2 go downhill quickly. Hopefully this series has ended, it's overdue.

Pretty Abysmal

Remake of the great Charles Bronson 1974 thriller failed to take off. Using the same basic "plot" of the original, this has no redeeming value, it's just a nasty and ultra violent exercise. Willis is NO Charles Bronson, and trying to believe him as a surgeon, is almost laughable. And rather than take on a stance about "vigilantes" it's just about revenge with a silly, and not at all believable plot line. Dressed like the "Unabomber" Willis just looks silly, and we really gain nothing from this effort. Want to see this flick, go back and rent the Bronson flick, you'll be far better off.

This set features the first four entries in the Daniel-Craig era of the 007 franchise, following British secret service superspy James Bond as he takes on a series of villains to save the world. Included here are Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre.

Daniel Craig is the BEST!!

Live Craig as BOND. In my eyes, the best ever, if only 2 of these 4 films are great. Both Casino Royale and especially Skyfall reach the great level!! Quantum is ok, but fun, and I think Spectre sucks badly. A truly bad made, long, boring and tedious film that completely destroys all that had come before. I love the set, less that film which I consider to the point of unwatchable. Also don't be deceived be the "extended" version of Casino Royale...it's only a few short additional to the opening fight scene and the staircase that are diff from the original version and certainly NOT worth the price of buying this new set. So be cautious. If you love Craig as Bond, excepting Spectre, this is worthy. Just don't get too filled by misleading and unimportant information.

Fun epic, a throwback to nonsense filmmaking
on November 16, 2019

This film is a lot of fun and that is all that can be said. Can't take it literally or seriously and after 35 years has become basically a cult classic, for which I agree. Totally violent, vulgar and tasteless, this film about a Miami drug lord, is just what you expect. Pacino is quite good, and Brian DePalma's direction certainly helps, but don't take it for more than it's worth. Today it's just a throwback to times when this type of material was shocking. Today it can be considered laughable and silly. But enjoy for what it is, and if you do, I think it's a worthy purchase and a throwback to some crazy, but ultimately satisfying filmmaking.

Great fire scenes, silly backstory.

Good film, with some spectacular fire sequences throughout. But the story of the 2 feuding brothers, and their families, leaves a lot of be desired, as does the plot itself, and the overly done political intrigue Best performancees are DeNiro as the fire investigator and Donald Sutherland, great, as a notorious firebug. If you just want to see great fire scenes, you'll love it. Otherwise, overall, entertaining, but slow moving (a lot of times), this is worthy addition to a collection, just for entertainment sake.

Very god film mastered in 4 K

Coppola's 1979 film, although missing greatness for me, is still a very fine film, and the new 4K restoration is superb. Visually stunning, the story of the search for Captain Kurts remains a compelling exercise. 3 differing versions of the film, I still prefer the original cut. Goos performances, and Martin Sheen especially stands out. Brando good as always, although rubles much of his dialogue. Other films are better showing the war experience, but this film does do a quite strong job, and showing a differing side and viewpoint to the futility of war. Def worth viewing.

2004 Oscar winner for Best Picture among other awards, is a fun, nostalgic, romantic comedy/drama with Tom Hanks in an Oscar winning performance. Traveling through time and experiences if a joy to watch with many dramatic and moving moments, that bring back lots of fond memories. Technology at it's highest level and then Blu-Ray and 4K look amazing. A DEF winner.

Quirky, bizarre, strange

I actually wondered why a filmmaker would make story about Cheney, well, this film answers it. It's a bizarre journey through this man's life from early years to the VP spot in the Bush administration. It's not perfect, there are lapses, and then moments of brilliance. The performances are all ideal. At the end you may question what you just saw, and not sure what to think. That was my thought. But I wasn't bored, more curious. As I said, a strange piece, but one worth taking a look at.

Sergio Leone's sweeping epic runs close to 4 hrs and yet it is a must see for anyone interested in a captivating, time journey through lives. DeNiro stands out in another great performances spanning a lifetime of experiences, through flashbacks, flash forwards and even time in motion segments. Yes, it's long to be sure, but it's not boring at all. But you must be patient with it. When it's over I feel secure to say your will have seen something special. No, this isn't GOODFELLAS or even the original GODFATHER, those are masterpieces, however, this does come close, and is well worth any serious moviegoers time and money. See it.
