A legendary sci-fi film that has stood the test of time and now looks and sounds better than ever on this 4k edition. Deeper blacks and better details abound but not consistently in all scenes, and the film takes a slightly darker tone ergo the 4 stars instead of 5. The Dolby Atmos audio is excellent and adds to the atmospheric scenes. Highly recommended.

I got this to replace the 43" LG 4K TV I bought (also at BB) on Cyber Monday 3 years ago as a 4K PC monitor and sometime live TV. I thought that was a great deal at $399 but the TCL blows it away in every way at just $279 (on sale). It's brighter, faster (actually designed to be used with a PC), has better color and a great Roku OS built-in. And it supports HDR 10 and Dolby Vision to boot! I deducted one star for an occasional ARC audio glitch and not quite enough brightness for true HDR highlights.

As an Audio/Video enthusiast I had taken note of the stellar reviews this set had received since it's introduction. As a recent retiree I'm on a fixed budget, but I have "champagne tastes on a beer budget" as they say. When my old 65" Toshiba DLP died after 12 years I decided to grab this set, especially since it was on sale for 799.99. Although the Geek Squad missed the next-day delivery as scheduled, it was delivered bright and early on the next available day. The box looked unmarked so I trusted it wasn't broken. For 19.95 they hauled away the old Toshiba for recycling.
My wife and I were able to unbox and position the TV ourselves with no problem - it only weighs a little over 50 lbs. It fired right up and connected to my wireless network with ease. The built-in Roku is easy to use. I used rtings.com recommended calibration settings for Movie. The Normal setting is great for bright daylight viewing. It's hard to find any faults in the picture quality for most of the picture mode settings out-of-the-box. I love that there are two different backlight controls to easily adjust for ambient light in the room (I don't use dynamic contrast)). 4K HDR/Dolby Vision content looks amazing! I used the built-in speakers for a day just to test, and they are not bad at all. I added a sound bar and with CEC HDMI control can power-on and adjust volume with the remote. All in all, I'm really happy with this set. I looks as good or better than my 2016 SONY 930D.

All in all a decent tv but the settings vary from
Movies to shows to sports and the contrasts and brightness doesn’t adjust to the category you’re viewing. An upgrade from my Vizio but the hype was too big for what it delivered. Guess that’s why it’s so much cheaper than the bigger brands.

I had a similar issue with my 615 - little to no visible picture change between modes. Unplug the TV for 10 minutes, then do a Factory Rest from the Advanced menu.

How many speakers are in the sound bar? What size are they? What size is the subwoofer? I don’t see where it gives this information at all.
The sound bar has 2 full-range speakers, each in a 1.5 x 5 inch enclosure. The cloth front is not removable so cannot tell what the actual speaker size and shape is. The sub has a ported 5" speaker.

I like my Xfininity dvr box. Can I use it with this tv? I have other TCL Roku tv's but don't use cable boxes with them. I don't want to use the Xfinity Beta app.

what is the height from the bottom of the tv to the stand it is sitting on? I have a yamaha yas-207 sound bar and was wondering if it will fit in the space.
The space under the TV is approximately 57"w x 10.7"d x 2.8"h.
