For the year it came out (1984) this was ahead of its time. It is still a fun ride, but the plot is silly and the actors overact. Still a good time.

I had never heard of the book and would have loved to have read it.
The movie was a pleasant surprise since I had expected another video game remake. This was a very entertaining hour plus. I got into the plot, the characters and the FX.

I remember seeing this movie in the cinema years ago, but I cannot remember the details. Watching the blu-ray reminded me of why this movie is held in such high regard, it is brilliant. See it again.

I never knew that there was a game that this movie was based on, so I have no comparison as to how good it stacks up against the game. The movie as a stand alone is quite entertaining. No great plot, but the action is entertaining. Grab a bucket of popcorn and enjoy.
