Nice for backups and sharing but not for streaming

I bought this with the intention of storing digital movie files (legally) and streaming them to Plex on the same home network. WD + Plex make it ridiculously easy to set this all up. However, despite some users saying that their WD NAS could keep up with streaming and transcoding, mine could not. I tried a few settings and nothing worked; it took too long to load up the movie and start playing it.
I WOULD NOT recommend this as a media server.
I WOULD definitely recommend this for storage outside of media streaming. Set up is super nice and easy. Cost per GB is good. Software, sharing, and the interface is user friendly.

These lights are great. They’re bright and colorful. They seem to be a little difficult to break which is great; I accidentally squished and twisted these and they still work perfectly.
The controller makes a high pitched noise at full brightness. It’s annoying, but not enough to dislike the product.

This is such an amazingly fast device. The additional screen real-estate makes it really easy to multi task and to see tons of information at once. It’s like having an actual computer. Having said that, it still cannot replace a laptop in my opinion. Since it can’t replace a laptop, I think the 12.9” is too large for an iPad. One day when it can actually replace a laptop, then this will be the perfect iPad Pro to get.
