Better Call Saul's final season concludes the complicated journey and transformation of it's compromised hero, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), into criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. From the cartel to the courthouse, from Albuquerque to Omaha, season six tracks Jimmy, Saul and Gene as well as Jimmy's complex relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn), who is in the midst of her own existential crisis. Meanwhile, Mike (Jonathan Banks), Gus (Giancarlo Esposito), Nacho (Michael Mando) and Lalo (Tony Dalton) are locked into a game of cat and mouse with mortal stakes.

Better Call Saul is one of the best TV shows ever made. It looks even better on Blu-ray. There are plenty of extras to enjoy. BUT Sony still hasn’t learned that stacking their discs does NOT work well! And it’s been a problem since the first season on Blu-ray. Also, it’s overpriced at $40; I could have bought 2 seasons with that money. So while it’s a phenomenal show, buyer beware!

4K is sometimes hit-or-miss in my experience, but this film is worth every cent to own in that format! The picture quality is gorgeous, the sound is great, and gives this masterpiece new life. And what can I say about the movie that hasn’t already been said?? Tom Hanks and Matt Damon are superb, the battle scenes are well-shot, and if you don’t have a tear in your eye by the end, check your pulse.

Bridge on the River Kwai is a masterpiece in every way. Alec Guinness is incredible, and the characters are all so well-rounded that you understand everyone’s motives and reasoning. The ending is one of the best in movie history. Now remastered for 4K, it looks gorgeous while retaining the grainy look. The Steelbook is a must-have for fans and collectors! What more can I even say?

James Mangold’s 3:10 to Yuma is a rare case of the Western remake that is better than the original on every level. The performances from Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are outstanding, as well as Peter Fonda and Ben Foster. The action sequences are great, especially because they are filmed on-location and use practical effects. The story and characters are in many ways improved. And with the 4K release, it looks better than ever (I used to own the DVD, and the image is definitely sharper). I did experience a slight hiccup on the 4K, but those discs sometimes do that. If you loved the movie already, this 4K Steelbook is a must-own!

Let me make one thing clear: 4K is the way to go usually, and owning one of these makes for a fantastic viewing experience. What is frustrating is when the player freezes up and won’t eject the disc until I restart it. I know this isn’t just me; other 4K owners have had similar problems. This game is based more in the comics, so while fans of Chris Pratt’s live-action StarLord will still recognize some characters and Easter eggs here, it’s NOT the MCU. That said, it’s a perfectly enjoyable (if glitchy) game that should keep casual gamers engaged. The gameplay is repetitive, sure, but it’s still enjoyable and even unexpectedly emotional at times. Doesn’t have the highest replay value, but it works better than the Avengers game!
