Fantastic 4K Player for Beginners

This was my first 4K player I got after I got my first 4K tv and it is still the one I use. It's super simple, not many controls, and the upscaling on the DVDs and especially the Blu-Rays is fantastic. My only downside of this player is also an upside at times. The minimal controls make the player super easy to use. However they do cause me to not be able to do things like change aspect ratio or certain display settings that I wish I could. I understand it is a low budget and beginner player I just wish it had a couple more settings to help with the user experience.

Two Great Films and 2 Fun But Not-So-Great Films

First of all I owned all these movies on DVD before hand and the quality upgrade to the Blu-Rays is great. The image is much sharper, the colors are better, and the light and dark scenes are easier to see. As for the movies, Batman and Batman Returns are great (Returns is my favorite). Batman Forever is not a great movie but Jim Carrey carries the movie from being a bore to at least being a fun if not fully intriguing watch. Batman and Robin is a bad movie, but the good thing is, it knows it's bad. As long as you watch it knowing it's trying to be over the top and fun with itself, you will have an enjoyable time.

The remote is super easy to use, the screen is bright enough but not too bright, the Harmony app for the computer that lets you add the devices and set up different commands is super easy to use and found all my devices with no problems. I had an older version of this same remote that eventually had some problems. This one so far has had no issues and is working perfectly.

I've had some serious issues with this player. Does it play stuff? Yeah. That's about all it does right. The 4K looks good, the upscaling is decent, that's the end of the good stuff.
The bad, the dolby vision doesn't work. When playing a Dolby vision title the player skips horribly. I sent it in to be fixed and they fixed something else I didn't even know was broken and not the problem I sent it in for. I ended up just plugging it into a TV that doesn't support Dolby vision so that way I can still use it. The hdr works fine so that's good. I also have a 4K player I got on sale for like 60$ that works better than this one. I've never had an issue with it and it's almost a quarter of the price.
I honestly do wish I had better things to say, but I was very disappointed by this player. If you choose to buy it that's great, I don't want to stop you, just want to inform you about my rough experience with this product. - Good luck all...

The movie is strange. There is no denying that. However, the subjects the movie tackles are also undeniable. The film is fantastic, a must watch. As for the 4K, the movie looks amazing. This film goes with HDR only, no Dolby vision, and I think it's a great choice. The movie feels classic and the colors are muted on purpose. It is one of the best looking movies I own.
P.s. The large 1.85:1 aspect ratio that fills so much of the screen is amazing. I love larger aspect ratios, especially for films that look this good.

Excellent Movie, Great Transfer

The movie is Excellent. It's a classic that should be seen by all. The 4K is also great. This is the prime way to view this epic film.
One thing to keep in mind (just an FYI) is that this film takes advantage of a very chopping editing style especially during fight scenes. This was done on purpose to make the action feel more stressful and violent. This is not a bad thing but when I first saw it, I thought the movie was skipping. Just keep in mind, it's not skipping, it just feels choppy on purpose. Hope this helps!

Great Movie, Nice 4K

I would have given this 4.5 stars if I could but I had to round up. I like the movie a lot and the 4K is really nice for the most part. My biggest issues are two fold. 1... The movie is dark. I wish it was a little brighter. I messed with my settings and found the hdr / Dolby vision to make the movie much darker than the Blu-Ray (no hdr) version. 2.... The 4K scenes in the Oasis are really nice due to the CGI and colors. However it has a noticable down-tick as it becomes grainy when it goes back into the real world. You get used to it but at first it's a little jarring. However overall it's a great purchase.

I got this free trial with a movie purchase. I wanted the try the service so it worked out well. It's a really cool way to do it. DC content that includes movies, shows, and comics. If you like comics and movies it's a great service. I recommend at least giving it a try to see if it's for you.

A Great Movie and a Good 4K

The movie is really good, that's something I think most people can agree on. The 4K transfer is also good, but maybe not quite as good as I wish it was. I wish the film was filmed in 4K (or maybe even 5 or 6K) but sadly the film was made from various 2K renders. This provides a decent uptick from the standard Blu-Ray, but does not give the film the really nice 4K look many native 4K films have.

The Revenant is one of my favorite movies because it keeps you interested from the beginning to the end. It's shocking, stressful, interesting, and heart-pounding. I had this film in Blu-Ray already but I had to buy the 4K after I read this was one of the best looking 4K films. After buying the film and trying it, I completely agree. This film is easily up there with some of the 4Ks ive seen (Other amazing ones are Life of Pi and Spiderman Into the Spiderverse). This is a must-have for any film lover and a must-have for any 4K lover. If your're both, why don't you already have it?

I recently purchased the shazam movie and said it came with a 30 day free dc universe trial. I'm just not sure where that free trial code is or how to activate it. Any help?
You are supposed to get the code in an email. Check there including in spam just in case. If you didn't get it you should be able to contact customer service and they can tell you how to get it. Once you have the code just go the the DC Universe website and when you click to sign up for the service there should be a spot to put in a gift card or promo code. Just put it there and your good to go. Hope this helps.
