caution if using on older system

needed an extra external usb drive for my windows 8.1 system- size and price were good for this one. I have used lots of MyBooks or similar devices in past.
this comes formatted in exFAT so if you are using a windows system (at least win 8.1) then it might be good to not leave it connected all the time as start up can hang. Had to reformat it to NTFS so it would play nice. Decent speed. quiet. it has no lights on it so the only way you know it's on is if you feel the hum or see it show up in your devices. no power switch for rebooting - have to disconnect power cord. probably wouldn't get again.

Kids own. Overall, solid case - a little bulky but definitely protects the phone. Main issue is the upper lip of the case can wear down and break off with repeated ins and outs of pockets and backpacks so after several months I end up getting a new one. Two of these over the lifetime of their device is still cheaper than multiple devices.

fre lifeproof typically comes with a headphone adapter that you screw into the headphone port of the case. doing so does two things
1) makes sure you keep the water proof integrity of the case, and
2) makes it easy to connect any 3.5" headphone, as without the adapter most plugs won't reach/fit.
