Nathan's Reviews

TCL~s 5-Series QLED TV marries premium picture and endless entertainment for a stellar home theater experience. Quantum Dot technology and the HDR Pro Pack with Dolby Vision combine for greater brightness and contrast, as well as a full palette of rich colors. TCL~s Contrast Control Zone technology optimizes the image across individual zones to yield striking contrast between light and dark areas. The 5-Series models~ AiPQ Engine uses machine-learning algorithms to optimize color, contrast and clarity for an unrivaled 4K HDR experience. Easy Voice Control lets you control your entertainment using just your voice. You~ll be ready to play with Auto Game Mode which adjusts picture settings for an optimized fast-response gaming experience. Plus, the Roku OS provides seamless access to your cable box, Blu-ray player, gaming console, and other devices without flipping through inputs or complicated menus. The super-simple remote~with about half the number of buttons on a traditional TV remote~puts you in control of your favorite entertainment.

Decent TV for the price but not without its flaws

While I quite like the Roku system, and much prefer it over Fire TV or Google TV due to the lack of throwing everything in your face and letting you just go to the channel you want, Roku built in to TVs seems to struggle. Roku, the company, has good support for the Roku TVs and continues to update them for years but I have noticed, on this TV and an older model, that Roku TV seems to have issues with certain apps. Disney+ for one. On both this TV and my prior TCL Roku TV, Disney+ tends to glitch the video fairly often. I don't see this on my Roku Ultra connected to another TV.
As far as the picture goes, it seems good to me. I don't have a fine eye for details but it looks nice. Not mind blowing or anything. I can't really tell the difference in the image quality between this and my 5 year old TCL Roku TV, which was also 4k but didn't have HDR. Speaking of HDR, I always hate HDR when I first watch something in it and haven't used HDR in a while. Then you get used to it and it doesn't bother you.
The build quality of the remote is sub-par. My 5 year old remote feels better than the new one AND the new one makes noises. Not impressed. It also doesn't come with one of the nice remotes with a headphone jack for private listening. It would be nice to see TCL step up their game with the remote. The new remote Roku sells with the rechargeable battery would be awesome to see bundled in.
Speakers are fine. A bit better than on my older model but like any built-in TV speakers they are nothing to write home about.

Fun, if slightly campy, movie

This is a great movie. Sure, it is a bit campy and was originally not meant to be a family movie but it is a fun Sci-Fi romp. Humor, action, and a great role from the always wonderful Alan Rickman.

Listen to your favorite music with this pair of PAW Patrol stereo headphones. Equipped with a 3.5mm plug and volume-limiting technology, these earphones connect to a variety of audio devices and help protect sensitive hearing. Foam ear cups and a padded headband make these PAW Patrol stereo headphones ideal for road trips and longer listening sessions.

Cute headphones and good volume control

Unlike other volume limiting kids headphones I have tried, my son can actually hear these. They have 3 settings for controlling the volume level and sitting at home with it on the lowest setting he can hear just fine. Haven't tried the other levels yet but so far am pleased.

Great show! Missing digital and poor support
on July 3, 2019

I had this show on DVD and the blu-ray version looks so much better. Well worth the cost. Plus it includes 2 movies!
On the downside, there was no digital copy included. I have seen other reviewers mention the same thing. I did eventually get my digital copy from WB support but it was an exercise in futility. I had to explain 3 times that I couldn't send them a picture of the code as I didn't get a code. I had to send multiple pictures of the case, discs, and case # because they were uber picky about it. They sent me the wrong code. They said I could redeem it places I couldn't. Not a good support experience.

Doesn't work, no customer service

Bought this for my wife's camera. By the time we tried to use it we were past our return window and the battery didn't work. Charging it you just get a blinking light the whole time. The camera says the battery is dead.
Tried contacting Customer Service for Digipower with no success. They have not returned calls or emails.
Don't buy.

I am buying this for my mother. She does not have wifi can she still use it?

This is a non-sensical question. It works just fine without internet but you can't download apps or surf the internet without internet. This does not have a cellular modem so only gets internet via wifi.
