While not my favorite Steve Martin film, there is enough laughs that make this film worth owning. One thing this film does that is interesting is how they weave in scenes from other films and have Steve Martin's character interact with the actors from those films. What makes this film work is of course Steve Martin as he is funny as always.

A worthy remake of Final Fantasy 7

After waiting years for this remake, I can honestly say it was worth it. Final Fantasy 7 has become a classic in video games and deserved an upgrade. The graphics are gorgeous and the story and characters are more fleshed out. The combat system was always going to be my biggest fear because I like the turn based style and have not been impressed with Final Fantasy games that have gone away from this style. My fears have been put to rest since this combat manages to mix live action combat while slowing things down when you choose to use the command feature and pick using items, spells etc. It gives you time to think about your actions, all at a fast pace, so it is the best of both worlds. My biggest complaint is that this is only the Midgar section of the game. They do extend the game so it is not short, but I am not thrilled to have to wait yet again for the next release of the same game and pay again to have the complete game. Games are already expensive and now this one has been divided so we will have to buy the next installment when it comes out. I am not going to take points off the game itself for this, but It would have been nice to have the full game from the beginning. Overall, this is a must have for Final Fantasy 7 fans.
