Whether or not the time and effort put into the DVD release of Anna and the King was an attempt to compensate for the film's relatively disappointing box-office performance is irrelevant; the producers of this disc have done a superlative job of preserving what is essentially the film's saving grace -- its cinematography. Despite historical inaccuracies and the controversy over Jodie Foster's "English" accent, this film is easily one of the most visually impressive of recent years, and this disc perfectly recreates all of its lush, vibrant colors. It is a joy to watch. The film also boasts an appropriately sweeping, epic score which is very well-handled on the disc's 5.1 digital soundtrack. It makes frequent use of the bass channel, but is never overpowering. The dialogue is perfectly mixed so that whispers and murmurs are as clear as the yells and cries of battle. For those without full digital capability, there is an English Dolby ProLogic track as well as a French ProLogic track, with optional subtitles in English and Spanish. The disc also boasts a fairly impressive set of supplemental features with very nicely animated menus, although the featurettes contained within the "Behind the Scenes" menu do tend to be somewhat repetitive after the first one or two (there are six altogether, covering various aspects of the film's production including costumes, production design, and elephant training). A comprehensive director's commentary, theatrical trailer, a strong selection of deleted and extended scenes, and a music video for Joy Enriquez's "How Can I Not Love You," the film's theme song, are also present. Fans of the film will be more than satisfied with this release.

The timeless Chinese folk tale of a heroic young woman who takes drastic measures to save her family and country is given an exciting animated treatment by the Disney studio. After her father is unable to answer a call to arms to battle the invading Huns, Mulan disguises herself as a man and enlists in the army. Ming-Na Wen supplies the voice of Mulan, with Eddie Murphy as her companion, a wisecracking little dragon named Mushu; other voices include B.D. Wong, Lea Salonga, and Donny Osmond. 88 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

4k scan shows as grainy copy on my 4k player, and, like WW84, freezes intermittantly, & have to stop & reload then go to scene last viewed. in other words,
normal operation.
who can forget John Belushi in his role ?
very good frat comedy. still a joy to watch.

Over 60 years after she first ventured into man's world, Amazon princess Diana (Gal Gadot) lived a quiet pose as a D.C. researcher... until she looked into a legendary stone reputed to grant wishes. The artifact let her restore long-lost love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) to life-but it also turned colorless colleague Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) into the predatory Cheetah, before falling into the hands of power-mad industrialist Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal). Smash sequel co-stars Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen. 151 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack; English. Two-disc set.

4k transfer is grainy, and this is suppose to be remastered in 4k. audio is good, improved from original blu-ray release, and colors are sharp despite the transfer issue.
a good movie overall. fight & flight scenes still amazing to watch.

Enjoy movies and other streaming content with this Sony 4K Blu-ray disc player. Built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity allow for media to be streamed in high quality, while a super quick start mode minimizes fuss during use. This Sony 4K Blu-ray disc player has two HDMI outputs for simultaneous use with multiple screens.

1. Does this unit include cables/accessories necessary for hook up to any smart TV? 2. Does this have a multi-disc changer? If not, what is comparable with multi-disc changer? 3. Will this takes CDs too? 4. need basic DVD with HD Hi-Resolution?

hello, Mary.
no cables / accessories included, you choose the cables that are correct for whatever is being hooked up. only a single-disc player, multi-disc cd changers slowly going away. nothing compares to the changer for convenience so people record on usb sticks as example, allowing one to create their own mix. sony discontinued their 5-disc cd changer with usb record capability, a unusual feature.
does play cd's, dvd, blu-ray & 4k formats also, and to me, standard dvd is ok - have never seen hd dvd. dvd can hold only so much data compared to blu-ray & 4k. this player upscales dvd discs to near blu-ray quality anyway so no need for hd dvd.
hope this helps. have a good day.
