More IT help needed than expected

I purchased this for my home office so that I could scan documents to my laptop. The setup seemed easy until I had to actually use it on a regular basis. I ended up having to search for Troubleshooting help because I was having problems both printing & scanning. It frequently went 'offline' or errored out when trying to use it. I was able to finally fix it by Googling the printer name and issue. I found a link to an HP website that fixed the driver issue. Since then, it's been fairly consistent in being ready to scan/print when needed without having to restart the printer.

How do I attach the handle? My retro fridge just arrived today and the handles are not sliding in all the way in, they are only halfway on and still a little wiggly. Is there a trick for installing them?
