Did a lot of research on the top contenders and this Ecobee appears to be one of the best available. Install was simple and directions provided were clear, even for a new homeowner like me. The app is frankly so-so but once you learn the interfaces, it is easy enough to see the various data from the thermostat as as well as the remote sensor. Great controls available, overall a great upgrade from the old thermostat. I particularly enjoy monitoring the heating activity, including stages so I can learn to manage the settings better.

The plugs were easy to install on the wire. One trick would be to make sure you have enough of the bare wire exposed, otherwise the plugs don't have enough wire to catch. Once installed, they plugged in seamlessly into the back of my receiver. Buying more for the speaker ends of the wires now.

I bought this primarily for gaming with an external GPU setup. The egpu support was literally plug-in and turn on (AMD RX 570) and this little machine is great so far. Only complaint is that the built in memory is a little undersized at 125 GB however with all the TB3 ports, you should be fine to use an external SDD. Also the ability to upgrade the RAM at a later date is a nice benefit.
