Check your SD cards when you get them!

I'm not quite sure how to rate these. I gave them a 4, based on the ultimate outcome of my purchase. The bottom line is making sure you have good SD cards!
I bought 4 of the 64GB cards online at Best Buy. They basically just didn't work reliably in my cameras or Windows 10 computer. I suspect either a bad batch from SaDisk or that somehow fake cards got into the Best Buy system.
I returned them at the local BB store - no problems on that, and bought 3 from the store. These have been fine.
I guess the bottom line is make sure that any SD cards work, as soon as you get them.
Ultimately, all was OK, but I was not very happy at first.

I bought three of these to use as clones of my C; drive. I used EaseUS to clone my current drive. They are all bootable, and make great backups in case of a disaster or hack (such as I suffered recently). For under $100, I have triple backup!
I am a complete believer in SSDs - I have 4+ TB of SSD in my current PC (mostly Sandisk). No problems so far (in more than 2 years of use).

I've been using WordPerfect (WP) since 1982. I can open those files with the latest version of WP, and all versions of WP for Windows can open older version files (try that with Word!). I love how you can see all the formatting codes and edit or delete them if you want to. I even use my old PC/AT keyboards with function keys on the left with the latest versions of WP - let's me do a lot of formatting, editing, and moving around in a file without needing to reach for the mouse.
OK - I'm a bit retro, but I love WP X9. (And, I can read/write Word files for my friends if I have to.)

I bought this because I could not get my sound card to play in Windows 10. I thought, based on some internet research, that this would work despite my sound problem, since it is USB-based. Not so! It was the computer's fault - I had to reload Windows, and then this worked OK. It does not seem to be a solution to non-functioning Windows 10 audio. (I though initially that my problem was the sound card and/or its drivers. NO - It was Windows!). If you don't feel comfortable finding support info and driver info for the Roccat on your own, this may not be for you. There was essentially no installation info in the box. I will recommend it for its ultimate functionality, but only for computer savvy friends!

Just initialize it in Windows 10 and it works fine. I have converted my PC to SSD drives, and love the performance. Got a 1 TB SSD at Best Buy an Black Friday for $150 - I recommend switching over to SSD if you haven't yet.

My wife uses this all the time when we are watching TV together. She prefers a much louder volume than I do (her hearing is OK but not great) - so much so that my ears hurt if she gets to set the volume. She puts these on and can listen at whatever level she wants, while I can set the speaker sound level to my preference. Saves a LOT of arguing!!
She says it make some programs easier to understand as well (helps with British accents!).
The charging stand keeps it always ready for use.

I have been using WP for more than 35 years, and ALL older files can be readily imported to newer versions of the program, with formatting intact.
And, you can save new files in the old WP 5 format if so inclined.
All versions from about WP 8 (not x8!) onward use the same formatting codes.

Of course, if you buy multiple copies, you can install them on several machines, and exchange the files (WordPerfect, Quattro, ...) created on each one with no problem.
