The new Multi-Touch subsystem in the new iPad 9.7" and iPad Pro gives Apple Pencil striking capabilities alongside pixel perfect precision. This pencil is great for artists. It has pressure sensitivity for coloring and drawing which is very important for those who love art. It writes very well and is great for note taking. Charge last a long time and quickly charges if pencil battery is getting low. It works on the iPad mini 5 and current iPads. Highly recommend!

I currently have an iPad (A1822) I think it’s 5th gen. I am looking for a new stylus for note taking and occasionally drawing. Is the Apple Pencil 1st gen compatible with my current iPad?
Yes the apple pencil first generation works with the iPad mini 5. Also the Logitech Crayon works great with the iPad mini 5 as well. It's around$30.00 cheaper than the apple pencil. The crayon has the same technology as the pencil, except it does not have pressure sensitivity. If pressure sensitivity is important to you and if you are an artist then go with the apple pencil. But if you want a pencil for note taking and some coloring the Logitech Crayon is a great option.
