Installation went okay. There was some concern on the cuts needed to outgoing drop in range to make way for free standing range. Baseboard cuts okay. Side cuts on counter a little bit excessive. Back wall cut to remove counter back was safely done, although at time, I was concerned as between kitchen wall and garage are plumbing and electrical for washer and dryer, so owner was apprehensive that cuts would have accidently cut into plumbing or electrical. Will acknowledge that installation accepted, given overhead microwave and vent installation problems, would next time consider kitchen renovation with overall updates instead of piecemeal replacements.

Very disappointed

Disappointing installation as I inquired about external venting of the unit as well as dropping the unit to be lower for shorter spouse. Sales indicated that it was possible, but on paid site survey for the unit was conducted, installer indicated that venting for an internal wall microwave/vent would be possible but would go through above cabinet and make a left right angle to rest on overhead cabinets to exit the external kitchen wall. Concern was for trapped gas or grease becoming a fire hazard blockage, so that was nixed. Dropping the unit 1 1/2 inches was also nixed by installers due to adding additional wood to make up spacing for lowering microwave and how it would be bolted to overhead cabinet. Additionally, new microwave/vent required additional vent and bolt cuts to overhead cabinet, which leaves cabinet less than functional. Paying additionally for a site survey and having both requirements nixed by installers leaves us with a less than satisfied feeling of purchase.

So far, the product has been reasonable. The burners were confusing at first for the front ones, as they have duel, small and large controls for purpose of cooking. Spouse commented that it takes a while to heat up quickly, but I found controls to be reasonable. Broiling and Baking haven't been tried out, but did try the self cleaning, which I was surprised that self cleaning with steam required 5 hours. Storage shelf is low and harder for older users to bend and while it exists, owner must remember that when self cleaning is done, microwavable cookware might want to be moved out of storage.

Disappointing capability

The clock readout is so small and dim, it makes it impossible to tell how much time is left cooking. It also tends to turn off and reset when the vent light is turned off. It shouldn't do that. The overhead vent light indicator is so small and dim, it is almost non-existent and you need to tap it multiple times to turn it off when the light is on 'high', then 'low', then 'off'. Ridiculous to press multiple times. I would hate to have though that I was considering having it installed with it 'venting' externally from the house when the fan capability seems weak and noisy, let alone it might have gotten grease passing the filter and stuck in the venting tubing.
