Difficult but rewarding

I was one of the few people who had never played a game in the souls series, so when I picked this up I was not sure what to expect.
All I can say is it's very enjoyable but has a steep learning curve.
You can't just go in flailing around as you might in other hack and slash titles. You need to concentrate and learn the nuisance of it's unique gameplay. You have to learn the patterns of enemies and how to combat them.
I could easily see how some might find this game extremely difficult and frustrating, but it's certainly not for everyone. This game is made for hard core gamers. DO NOT play this if you are looking for a more casual experience.
Still, as hard as it is sometimes I find myself drawn into it's charm and world. I am still learning the ins and outs of it's gameplay / buttons / style but I think the more I play the more I enjoy it.
Good luck, be patient

After an inexplicable force decimated her reservation, Native American teen Dani (Blu Hunt) awoke in a foreboding facility. She's apprised with the four other young Inchin-patientsInch-Rahne (Maisie Williams), Ilyana (Anya Taylor-Joy), Sam (Charlie Heaton), and Roberto (Henry Zaga)-that they're mutants who need to learn to harness their strange abilities... and also, that they're not free to leave. Josh Boone's dark, long-shelved take on Marvel's next-gen X-Men co-stars Alice Braga, Adam Beach. 94 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

Worth the long wait, but a slow burn

I was pleasantly surprised with this one, but be warned it started off real slow and came on strong at the end. I don't want to spoil any major plot points so I'll just say it's set in the X-Men universe before the acquisition by Disney. It's a story about young mutants, based on the 1980's comic series.
It was indeed a bit on the creepy side as I had heard, not quite straight up horror but definitely elements of scares in here.
I'm not sure why it had so many changes and reshoots in production, but it came out enjoyable.

Pleasantly surprised how fun and addictive it is

I watched several gameplay videos and thought I would enjoy this game...and I truly do. A whole lot of fun. Plenty of puzzles, exploration, combat with a lot of nuance, If you like games like breath of the wild and assassins creed you will probably enjoy this one as well. Plenty of customization options as far as your character appearance and playstyle. Decent graphics for a switch game, obviously nowhere near as pretty as on other systems but it gets the job done.

Good and bad in some ways
on January 5, 2021

So i wanted a set of earbuds that would not continuously fall out of my ears as I am constantly moving at work, cleaning, etc. In that regard they serve the purpose perfectly. As much as i move they do not. The sound isn't super loud and the sound quality isn't the greatest but for a budget paid of earbuds they are ok.
It's easy to pair with my cellphone, and it's fairly straightforward to operate them.
The things I don't like are unlike the earbuds included with older apple iPhone the buttons on these are extremely hard to push. They are very unresponsive. One thing i loved about the old wired apple ones was how easy it was to adjust volume, answer a phone call, jump back and forth between songs etc. I often find myself still having to use my phone to change songs or volume and answer the phone.
So yes they are "wireless" in a sense that no wire is dangling to get caught in something at work, but not 100% effective.
Still i recommend them for someone in my situation. You want to listed to music as you work and don't need a wire dangling in front of you. Just realize you get what you pay for

Remake of a PS2 eras classic
on December 2, 2020

I never got around to playing the original on PS2 but I'm very much enjoying this one. Gameplay mechanics are sort of a throw back to those older games, but the graphics are nice for those who care about that stuff.
I'm more about story and fun gameplay and in that regard this is great. I'm having a blast terrorizing humans! Levels can be short and tricky at times, you can approach them in various ways depending on how you like to play. Something for everyone.
It's one of those mindless timewaster stress reliver fun games. We all need those sometimes.

Another remake / reimaging of a PS1 classic

I got this for $10 and it's worth every penny. It's far from perfect but I enjoy the hack and slash nature of it. It's been modernized but it's still very much a game of that PlayStation one era at heart...which is NOT a terrible thing.
If you are a fan of games of that era, the original, or hack and slash / dungeon crawler type games you will probably enjoy this one.

Interesting concept, a little TOO complex though

I'm a very old school gamer who grew up on Atari 2600 and NES so I am not as concerned with graphics as I am with story and gameplay.
The story is interesting, and the gameplay itself is a bit clunky but ok. The only part I don't enjoy is the time, effort, and complexity of having to solve the puzzles. Sometimes I just want to explore and leave the detective work to Batman.
So far I'm enjoying it overall, definitely out there though.

Poor Mans Resident Evil...not bad for what it is.
on December 2, 2020

Look, if you go in expecting the quality or playability of the recent Resident Evil 2 or 3 remake you will be tremendously disappointed.
BUT...
If you take off the rose colored glasses and see it for what it is it can be fun. This game is a love letter / throwback to survival horror of old. The birth of the genre back in the PlayStation one days when you had games like resident evil, silent hill, etc.
I'm enjoying the playthrough. The ONLY thing I dislike so far is how enemies come out of literally nowhere and grab you. You have NO idea they are there. That's poor design, but they probably had 1/1000th of the budget of resident evil so I can be forgiving. Plus I grew up in the old school era.
It's not bad, I got it for $15 bucks. Fair at that price for sure.

Fun game BUT....
on December 2, 2020
Posted by: AJSJedi

I should have known the minute I saw "2K" on the box....
I was a wrestling fan as a kid into my teen years, but that was over two decades ago. When I saw it was going to have plenty of legends in it, I became interested. WWE 2K18 was horrendous on switch, so I was hoping for some redemption. I hadn't really enjoyed a wrestling game since N64 or the original Xbox.
Don't get me wrong the game play can be fun and obviously geared more toward arcade action than simulation....
BUT.....
all those legend I wanted to play as? Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Stone Cold, The Rock....
Yeah, they are all LOCKED when you start the game. Not only that, the game does not currently support save data backup, so if your switch dies on you, you lose all your progress. I'm not spending hours upon hours upon HOURS to grind and unlock characters only to lose it for nothing.
VERY disappointed, but again it's 2K...i should NOT have been so surprised.

Great hack and slash even for non Minecraft fans
on December 2, 2020
Posted by: AJSJedi
Verified Purchase:Yes
I'm not a fan of the regular Minecraft, too overly complicated and arduous having to collect and build. However this game is rather enjoyable. You just chose a character and set off on adventure.
It's sort of like your typical hack and slash game, similar to marvel ultimate alliance, skylanders, etc. While I'm not a huge Minecraft fan, i love the aesthetics of this one.
It can be played up to four players, but I play single player and still enjoy it.
One fair bit of warning, the levels can be LONG and time consuming if you want to find everything, not great for playing in short bursts. Other than that, highly recommended.
