It slowly oscillates so that you can keep the air in your room flowing smoothly, yet it's quiet, as it only makes 52 dB of noise on its fastest setting. This fan is excellent for a large room or on the lowest setting and stationary (as opposed to oscillating) setting, for a specific area of a room. My only complaint is the underweighted base as compared to the fan itself. The plastic base doesn't seem very substantial but I haven't had any problems at this point.

I have this on my desk and love its quietness. With this fan, you can direct it very narrowly or have it oscillate. It has 4 speeds which is wonderful on a desk loaded with papers because the lower 2 speeds do not disturb anything. You can hear when on the phone with out difficulty. Great for an office or bedroom environment.

The sound quality is very good. We purchased this because we are both hard of hearing, particularly in the area of understanding voices on television. This sound bar has a third speaker which "specializes" in voice amplification and clarity. It works well for us. The one downfall of this system is lack of instructions about its operation and its remote. Intuitive learning isn't the same for everyone. A manual and explanation of the system would have been appreciated and used by many people, particularly two engineers who like to know how things work without having to take them apart.

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is the flimsiness of the base/stand. The fan is reasonably heavy and seems over weighted for the stand. The fan works very well and is very quiet on low speeds. Definitely cools a large room.
