A really good movie with a good looking Steelbook

This is a very good movie and it's now in 4K. The 4K looks stellar, although it's not that much better than the blu-ray version. But, I am much happier owning the 4K version, as I'm glad owning the best version of this film. Plus the Steelbook is a nice dark red and black. It looks cool, and looks good on the shelf.

Better than I thought it would be

The Steelbook I'll admit doesn't look the fanciest, but once it was in my hands I felt a deeper appreciation for it. It looks great on the shelf, and seeing the front up close it looks a lot better than I thought it would. Plus, this is such a good movie that it deserves a nice Steelbook packaging. I'm very happy I bought it.

Really a Beautiful Set

If you just want the movies then buy the cheaper blu-rays, but if you want something special buy this one. It's the four Avenger movies in 4K, blu-ray and digital. They come packaged in matching Steelbooks, and the case is also made of metal, with a foam padding interior that houses the Steelboooks. It's extremely sturdy and sharp looking.
I wanted something special for these movies and this metal boxset of Steelbooks is exactly what I was looking for. A really nice set!

The original holds up well

This movie was remade a few years ago and didn't do very well. I think that was because this was an 80's capsule. The Russians somehow invade the US, and this tells the story of a small rural town and a band of local kids who fight back against the Russians. This fit in the 80's and that's why it worked. Great young actors in Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, and Charlie Sheen make this a fun movie to watch. Very good supplements supplied by Shout make this a worthwhile purchase. I enjoyed it!

If you like Mad Max you'll enjoy this

This is another Max Max copy from the 80's starting Jean-Claude Van Damme. It's cheesy and Van Damme isn't the best actor, but it's an action movie in a sci-fi setting like Mad Max. If you like that style, like I do, then you'll enjoy this movie. I thought it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. Shout Factory adds some good supplements to make this a worthwhile purchase.

So bad it's good!

This only gets three stars as some will realize that this isn't a great movie. But, others who enjoy these types of movies will like it. An asteroid crossed path with the earth and all the machines come to life. It's horror, but it's also funny. Emilio Estevez does a great job as the main character taking the role seriously in this bad movie. I always liked this as a kid, and this new blu-ray proved to me that it still stands up well. I had a lot of fun with it. The Blu-ray is stocked with hours of extras. AC/DC does the soundtrack and is pretty great. Really a great blu-ray package.

Great Tom Hanks Comedy!

When Tom Hanks was still doing comedy comes a performance in the suburbs, where the local residents take a fear to a new weird family that has just moved in. Hijinks happen as they are all paranoid of these new residents. Directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins fame), he adds another solid movie to his directing repertoire. I had a lot of fun with this. Shout adds a lot of extras to keep you occupied too. A solid Blu-ray package!

This is actually a pretty cool Blu-ray by Shout Factory. This movie was never released in theaters, so it was an unknown movie to me. But, it should have got released. It has a great selection of actors in Jon Cryer, Flea and Catherine Mary Stewart. It tells the story of some urban youths who decide to move to California, but get stuck up in one of the fly-over states (can't remember) in a dangerous situation. And this is the tale of redneck criminals and urban youths clashing. It's not a great movie, but its very entertaining. Great supplements. Jon Cryer saying how much he enjoyed this movie is a lot of fun to listen to. Good buy!

Good Zombie Post-Apocalypse Movie from the 80's

I don't know what it is about this movie, but I'll just say it's fun. If you like horror mixed with a little comedy you'll like this movie. This came out in the classic 80's horror timeline, but goes it's own course. It just happens to be a unique little movie that has overtures to Day of the Dead than the others during this time period that copied Halloween.
Some great extras here too, to make this a worthwhile purchase.

Horror Comedy Fun with a Large Crocodile

This is a monster movie, but in this case it's a normal gator, of very large size, that somehow got transplanted to a lake in Maine. With Betty White you know you are getting some comedy. And that's what this is - a horror comedy movie. This isn't a 5 star movie, but nevertheless it was a lot of fun. A few extras by Shout make this a nice Blu-ray to own.
