Disappointing Anthology Film

This anthology film follows three separate stories all very loosely connected by a cat. The first story is pretty good with plenty of paranoia and humor. However, the other two fall flat in this rather tame horror film.

America Finally Gets It Right

This film is a huge improvement over 2014’s “Godzilla” for one simple reason. We actually get to see the monsters fight! The action and the effects are astounding and that’s all anyone should really ask for with any monster movie. This the third, and by far, best entry in Legendary’s MonsterVerse.

Shoddy Packaging Containing Genuine Thrills

Now, I’ll be honest and say that I only got this package for the first film. However, if you’re curious, the set also contains the two sequels to the original film plus the 2006 remake. The only problem is that this must have been an early Blu-Ray release because the packaging is flimsy cardboard and it feels like I could crush it just by lightly holding onto it. Still, four films for a price that can’t be beat.

“Avengers: Endgame” has two goals. First, it has to just be an amazing film, which it is. Beyond that, though, it also has to do something no other film has had to do before. It has to give us revolution on 22 films worth of storytelling and the filmmakers make it look easy! There’s amazing action, some great twists and turns and the final battle is one of the most awe-inspiring sequences that I’ve ever seen committed to film!

Way Better Than People Give It Credit For

This film is mostly hated because of a twist about midway through the film, but I didn’t mind the twist at all. What interested me was the personal journey that Tony goes through after experiencing the massive alien invasion in “The Avengers”. While dealing with PTSD, Tony must figure out whether it’s the suit that makes the man or the other way around. By the end of the film, we get that answer and I felt that this was a very satisfying conclusion to the Iron Man trilogy.

The Film That Made Me a Fan!

“Thor” is the film that ultimately made me a fan of the character. When I was a kid, I just couldn’t get behind Thor, but this film convinced me about why he’s a hero to follow! Chris Hemsworth makes his triumphant debut as the God of Thunder and Tom Hiddleston makes his first appearance as Loki, one of the best developed villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The small town setting brings everything down to a personal level without losing the epic nature of the story itself.
