Prometheus was 3 steps backward... and Covenant was 1 1/2 steps back towards the right direction.. just doesn't make it...
not a bad film... but just not great like the first 4... directors cuts of Alien vs. Predator films are just looking better compared to these.... Sigourney Weaver Kenobi could be the last hope for this alien saga turned astray... she needs to firmly step up and ac-cert herself into a strong Directorial-Acting-Producing position of strength... (I'm sure she wouldn't ignore better writers either) at this point I can't imagine anyone else who could restore and preserve the Dark and Horrifying Alien realm.. Her Character made first 4 Aliens that made her an Icon. Ridley needs her to make it right and to stay on the right track. Just a thought in an age where no one listens to the sounds emanating from deep space... getting closer... closer....cccc......

Least Favorite Alien but still a worthy upgrade..

Although I wasn't completely sold on this delusional preclusion... since film had its weak directorial and acting moments... (especially after waiting so long on the 5th follow up) it does have decent moments... visually stunning and its great to see the ship from "planet of the vampires" once again...
along with the original awesome Alien interiors,,,
But don't think I'll never get over dumb scene where one of the supposed scientists (a severely stupid one at least) puts his face up to an unusually sinister looking large wormlike creature talking to it like a fuzzy wuzzy plush toy for idiots... just before it bites his soon to be unmissed face off... I would hate to be the goofy actor playing the part of a zookeeper at a petting zoo in a not so great alien sequel in a poorly written and directed death scene... anyway.. I've read that Ridley Scott wanted to expand the alien universe to be a multi alien inclusive Utopia... sure... I'm all for it... but maybe he's thinking Star wars with face huggers..I'm just sayin' :-) just hope #7 takes us somewhere else in an alternate more intelligent and meticulously thought out dark universe... because there's no goin' back now..
Sigourney Weaver Kenobi, you could be our only hope....

Now... here it is.... lots of detail improvement but not perfection... hard to describe... just not quite ready to throw away my blu-rays.. and this was cheap at sale.. I would of course recommend for an upgrade... I can tell differences in Direct cut scenes that I don't remember noticing on blu-ray.... but still this still is one of the a best horror sci. fi. films ever made... and still looks purty nice... now if Disney would just hurry up (but take time to do it right) on the other 4K they're working on.. Aliens.. Alien 3... Alien Resurrection...

well... this 4k was at a really good price at sale... and I was getting
more curious about it the longer i waited... (hunting monsters and all) didn't know the video game connection until after (i would have passed)... though its entertaining enough... I like the star of the film among others cast... not a huge fan of CGI monsters... and I would have preferred it if Wayne Barlowe had his hands on it... but for a mainstream bubble gum movie its a quality OK enuff said...
