However the iPads lowered their prices and i got one for the wife and I. I have to say i use it all the time now for watching shows, sports, and movies to typing documents for work, and facebook. Its a great device, great size and weight as well.

The adapter is sturdy and works consistently to use a tv as a monitor with my Dell Venue tablet.
However, because it is a hard adapter and not one with a tail, the position of the hdmi cable is a little tricky. I had to elevate my tablet to make space for the cable (see picture). If my tablet had a micro hdmi port, I would not be able to use this adapter while charging the tablet due to the space constraint.
Be sure to look at the ports on your device and think about how it would fit before purchasing and consider getting an adapter that has a short tail attached.

Its probably made this way so you have to buy another cord to use between the device and the adapter. More $$$$!
