These are my son's. Sound quality is good. Not as good as my Sennheiser's, but very good. Should be at that price. They have some really cool features which is part of the attraction to the younger crowd. My advice, which is also the advice of most of the Best Buy sales people, would be Sennheiser or Sony, but if you're under 20, chances are you'll want these for the hype of how great they are and the features. If so, buy them. They're decent. Just buy the extended warranty and wear them knowing that you're paying more for the name than you should.

My father owned a stereo store decades ago and Sennheiser was the best. They have not lost any ground. Beats are overrated. These are the real deal. Build quality and sound quality are superb. I spent a great deal of time listening to headphones and the only ones possibly better were the top-end Sony's, but they are twice the price. These are better than the high-end Bose, high-end Beats, and way better than the other brands not mentioned.
