This classic finally gets a decent Steelbook

The definative werewolf movie. With the perfect mix of horror and humor. This movie is an absolute masterpiece.
The Steelbook itself is a major upgrade from the one that was released a few years ago. But it could use a better finish. The matte finish makes it look and feel cheap. But for the price point I'm reluctant to complain.

Bargain basement Steelbook for a campy classic

This is the lowest grade of Steelbook there is. It almost looks like it isn't finished when you compare it to almost any newly released Steelbook. It has a crappy matte finish that seems to chip very easily. The exterior artwork is pretty basic but it works. The interior artwork is nonexistent. But at the end of the day it's still better than a blue plastic case.
The movie itself it a classic that seems very cartoonish compared to the Christopher Nolan trilogy. But considering the source material why wouldn't it be? It's charming and still holds up.

I'm not a huge fan of this movie. I've always preferred the masterpiece that is An American Werewolf in London. But I couldn't help but pick up this Shout Factory Steelbook if for no other reason than the artwork. It doesn't really hold a candle to their Army Of Darkness release but it's beautiful none the less. If you're a Steelbook collector or if you like movies about werewolves in California then you should definitely pick this up.

This Steelbook is part of a Dia de los Muertos themed collection for Halloween 2018.
I didn't much care for the collection as a whole but they knocked it outta the park with the artwork on this one. At least on the cover. Unfortunately each release in this collection shares the same bland design on the back and interior. But for the price it is a great pick up.

I've been waiting for a Platoon Blu-ray Steelbook so I was pretty excited when I first saw this. But in all honesty it's a pretty run of the mill Steelbook. The artwork doesn't blow me away. Considering it's a Shout Factory product I expected more. But it is a quality product. It's well made, doesn't feel or look cheap. And has a great gloss finish. Overall I'm happy with it. And don't regret the purchase.
