Essential keyboard for Surface Pro 12"

Great keyboard only made for the Microsoft Surface Pro 12”. I am coming from a Microsoft Surface Go 2 paired with the official Surface Keyboard, and this keyboard for the Surface Pro 12” is much better. Microsoft really should just include the keyboard given the price of the Surface Pro 2 itself. The keys are responsive, have a nice feel to them, much better than my previous Surface Go keyboard. The trackpad is also pretty big and you can left and right click like you can with a traditional mouse. The keyboard connects magnetically and stays on as it must use a pretty strong magnet. It stays on too. The keyboard also then acts to protect the screen when closed, and actually stays closed. This is a really nice design.
I would say if anyone is buying the Surface Pro 12 with any intention of using it as an actual computer then an actual tablet needs a keyboard. Windows 11 doesn’t quite cut it as an all the time operating system just with a touch screen.
Now, this product comes with the pen too, adding to the cost. I am an artist, and this is my first time having a pen that is not made by Wacom that really feels good to draw with. The Surface Pro 12” is just about the smallest size you would go if you are thinking of actually drawing with it. It is very pressure sensitive and very nice to draw with. I draw with the Sketchbook Pro app and it is a dream to draw with this pen. The pen is rechargeable, and it magnetically sticks to the back of the Surface Pro 12 into a groove shaped like the pen. This is also where the pen gets charged by the Surface, so it is always ready to go. Now, if you are not an artist, this pen is not totally necessary and possibly might annoy you as it doesn’t quite sit flush with the rest of the back of the Surface. This isn’t a big thing most of the time, but I am always afraid it will get loose in my backpack. Not a big deal but maybe something worth mentioning. The back of the surface will not lay flat while that pen is in place.
All in all, these really make the Surface Pro 12 into a really nice tablet / computer, though if I were not an artist, I would personally skip the pen. I don’t see a whole lot of use for it if you are not an artist.

Good tablet but needs a keyboard to be a full PC

Great device for most people that need a tablet and a real computer too! I was a bit afraid of getting a snapdragon device, having heard of software compatibility problems with last year's Snapdragon chips, being this is an ARM based chip and not x86 Intel or AMD. I am coming to this device mostly needing a tablet. I have an iPad 11" and have also owned a Microsoft Go 2 Surface 10.5" tablet.
I read a lot on my tablets, and while the surface line are better at being PCs they aren't quite as good as standalone tablets due to the Windows 11 operating system not being a tablet first design. If all you need is a tablet, go for an iPad, you can get one for a lot less than any surface.
To really make this Microsoft Surface Pro 12" shine, you unfortunately need to purchase at least the Surface keyboard, adding at least another $150 to the asking price. The Surface Pro 12" is also a bit too high in asking price in my opinion, however if you can get it discounted, yes I got mine on sale, it is absolutely worth it, if you need both a tablet and a pretty good windows 11 PC as well. Just keep in mind, I think most people will need at least the keyboard with this 12" tablet for it to be useful as a windows 11 PC. You could always get a secondary bluetooth keyboard, but I do have to say having the Microsoft Surface keyboard here does provide screen protection while on the go. It however does not work via bluetooth, so you cannot separate it via the magnet lock on the bottom of the tablet and keep working.
There are two USB-C ports on the side of the tablet (no charger included, but they do include a usb-c cable). So far, I have had no real compatibility problems with this being a non intel / AMD x86 based device. There are now quite a few native apps one year after Microsoft partnered Qualcomm/Snapdragon on these Surface devices. This very device however, I think is a much better experience than the launch of the Surface 13" devices in 2024. This one runs totally silent, no fans, and with just a great 12" screen size. This screen is not OLED, but I think it looks great, including being brighter. I was not a fan of the OLED one in the 13", it just didn't get bright enough for me. While using this 12" as a reading device/tablet, I think the size is great. I mostly read comic books, and there are a few app options to choose from that are even native to ARM chips on the Microsoft Store. I personally use the app called "COVER" and it is great for reading DRM free .cbr comic books. For me, the 256gb entry level size of storage with the device is good enough, I mostly just keep a handful of documents for reading on my tablet locally. When I am on the go travelling or even need more space, I have a portable USB-C drive for saving files to, should I need significantly more space. All in all, this is what I think Microsoft should have launched with in 2024. My only other gripe is that they should have just included the keyboard considering the MSRP of the tablet itself.
The other great thing on this device has been the battery life. I feel it is pretty close to the battery life I get on an iPad Air 11”. All in all, very happy with this purchase. It offers a lot of functionality once you get at least the keyboard with it.

Great Gen 4x4 2TB SSD that won't break the bank, and gets you nearly same performance of ones that cost much more.
I was able to install this into the Asus ROG Ally X with no problems at all. It doesn't get any hotter in the ROG Ally X than the 1TB model it replaced in the ROG Ally X. I would not install this with a heatsink in the Ally X, but just re use the thermal pad that is in the stock Ally X SSD. While there is a bit of room there, you need to get the battery cable on the ROG Ally X over the top of the SSD and if you have a heatsink you may not be able to clear that height.

Decent smart lock, but took some work to get the door sensor to work. The door sensor just wouldn't register with the lock until it was physically mounted into the door frame. Other than that, setup was fairly easy, and luckily installation of the lock itself was pretty easy. I would recommend this lock if you have a standard door size.

Even in 2024, this Ring Alarm kit is still worth it. The newer model, Ring Alarm "Pro" adds in a couple features, most notably an eero router, but if you don't need mesh coverage because you have a smaller home, you mostly get everything else you would want in a lower priced package. Setup is just as easy, and compatible with current gen Ring motion detectors, sensors, and Ring Flood and Freeze sensors.

Great for fans of Soccer, aka football to the rest of the world, however other sports streaming packages meant to replace cable tv subscriptions offer more for less money. FUBOtv do not stop at soccer, with tons of other sports also being available, as well as other traditional live cable TV channels. Worth a trial at least, and if you are a soccer fan, you will find more options for watching football than any other service available in the USA.

This case is SO CHEAP. It is like a laser printer made it and it is covered with fabric. It says you can wash it but I can't being to imagine how that will work. I am returning it. I am not trusting this flimsy junk to protect my new phone. Attractive but not practical.

I bought this for the 3080, seems solid build. I did not have the problem with the AIO cooler like other state. I modified and put a 750 PSU , more memory and later will put a M2 drive, this board has 2 nvme slots.

Does the gift card have to be used towards the ring or can it be used towards any item?
It can be used for anything, however it is not a regular gift card, but a "promotional gift card", which is only good for a month. After a month, you cannot use it any more. It also will not work towards any kind of digital item, like PlayStation gift cards or anything like that.

This does not use a SIM card. Nor does it record or save video do a SD Card or MicroSD card. The only way to save video is up to the Ring.com cloud account, however you will need to pay a monthy fee in order to do that. The cheapest plan is currently $3 a month.
If you do not pay a monthly fee for storing video, you can still use the camera as a live camera, and will still detect motion, and give you alerts.

Can you use this drive with Mac and PC seamlessly? Can I drop and drag files from PC and then add files from Mac without the need to reformat the drive?
yes. Easiest way to do this is to format the hard drive on the Mac using the application "Disk Utility". Format it using the pull down, called "ExFat". ExFat is way of formatting the drive that will let you read, and write, from both Mac and PC. That being said, it must be done from the Mac side. For whatever reason, Mac's do not like ExFat formatted drives from the PC side in my experience. Also, on the Mac side, there are certain things that won't work like file cataloging. For most people, this wont' matter, but if you use disk cloning software, it won't be able to clone ExFat drives as fast.
