Overall a very good set and glad I bought the set.
First off about time we get seasons 1-5 on bluray. Finally replace that space for the blue ray set instead. Ashamed that I had to pay extra to get the missing seasons on bluray. Would of love if DC offered to sell the first 5 seasons separately for us guys that already bought half the seasons already but I see why they wouldn’t or couldn't because of profits and all.
Packaging- Pretty decent packaging for a normal bluray set. Hard carbon box though I wish they could of given it the steel book case treatment at least for the box, but that would cost more, price would be higher, I wouldnt mind paying extra for that fancy protection, still good enough. At least the casing is the good old blu ray trays with the good ez disc stompers. I seen 4k bluray sets with terrible disc holders or poor handling. Like the Lord of the rings 4k sets, indiana jones 4k set, game of thrones 4k sets. Where they just put 2 or 3 disc on each side.
Video/Audio- 1080p at last for seasons 1 to 5, the difference is very clear if u own the old dvds vs the bluray versions and have the equipment. I watched the finale of season 10 of the old bluray and compared it to the new set I really dont see a big difference. I used the same 4k setup for both discs and really cant till if theres a big difference. The audio for the new sets have dts and dd but not a big improvement. Of course the old seasons u will see big improvement because 1 to 5 was never on bluray. However season 6 to 10 my ears don't hear it.
Extras- the digital copy is nice to have and glad they included it that makes the extra money worth it especially for us fans that already bought seaasons 1 to 5 or prefer digital. The only downside is you must have a Vudu account. Not a big deal for me, most of my digital library is vudu or itunes, but if your a itunes only fan your out of luck. I wish they had a “TV Anywhere “, but that would be a major legal battle, license, money, etc.
The 2 bonus dvds are mostly stuff you can find on the old dvds/blurays or on youtube. Like the Aquaman pilot, 100th episode, these are recycled extras. Still its nice to have in disc rather than searching my old dvds. I wish they could of added all the extras on Disc to Digital though. That would of really been nice but maybe that would cost more.
In the end a very nice set worth getting even if you have the other half of the seasons. Minor things like the artwork, and extras are good reasons to keep the old bluray sets. The new sets dont have the same back cover art, disc art, and dont have a episode guide booklet. Instead the new sets just have the episode and season label only. The old sets had nice disc art of character, and a booklet with more stuff. Just look at my pictures and you can totally see the packaging is a bit different for the new sets. The top row is the new set with the back cover on top with the old one on the bottom row, the new disc art vs the old set, the DC logos instead of the WB logo on the new sets. not a big deal for me, but just a tiny change that doesnt change much.
The only really bad thing is Bestbuy still sends out damage sets. As usual I always buy 2 copies of every 4k/bluray set so I dont have to haunt every bestbuy to replace missing disc, broken cases. This has been happening alot lately. Especially with big titles like Lord of the Rings, indiana Jones, game of thrones, my back up Smallville set didnt have any damage or missing discs but my 1st copy the box was beaten up, some of the plastic was torn, season 1 had a crack disc and the case was ripped. There is no plastic or or slip cover for each season either, so be really careful. Some best workers are not treating our stuff with care properly.

This double feature contains both action-packed adaptations of the beloved Mortal Kombat video games. In Mortal Kombat (1995), three unsuspecting martial artists head to a strange island to compete in a tournament that could decide the planet's fate. In Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997), a group of martial artists assemble to save the world from an unexpected extra-dimensional threat in just six days.

The only live action videogame based movie that should get a steel book case and 4K release as well.
Its not the 4k version but glad the steel book case is there, When the 4k version comes out am definately removing that god awful mk 2 disc and putting the 4k version of MK 1 the way it should be.
Great movie and great case but I wish the 4k version was here too.

Great movie and great case now where is shreak 2 at least or the rest fo the sequels?
Definately a improvement if you have a 4k tv, cables, player, and soundbar alright.
I just wish shrek 2 came out on 4k too or if a complete steelbook 4k set of all the shrek movies came out too. Pretty sure guys are wondering about the sequels not on 4k yet too.

Its ok not really a big improvement. I still have last years appletv and does everything I need.
The dolby visson, atmos, and the remote are nice to have and if you have a 4k entertainment system its freaking amazing. Still there are some problems still apple should keep aware.
Pros- supports for all sound formate, video or 4k setups is better.
Its a bit faster to load channels and its nice that theres more channels or support for appletv
All my ipads or iphones works, even my old iphone 8 works well and can use as a remote.
Setup is ez if you have a apple account or know what to do. I just had to turn it on and login my channel list from my old appletv was there.
Doesnt take alot of space and the cooling system is nice. Its not really hot after leaving it on for 10 hrs.
The Pros-
The remote is super better since they made it a bit bigger (for us bigfoot people its nice to have a comfortable remote that doesnt give our hands tunnel syndrome) they somewhat kept the sliding and added seperate buttons for the up,down, arrows, but still I wish apple would just make 2 versions of the remote and make it bigger. 1 version is the bigger remote, that way the 80$ for just the remote would be a decent justification.
The price is still high 170$ or so for just the 32gb version. I bare ly even use 3 gb for the apps. My roku ultra does the same thing and goes on sale sometimes. Last week roku ultra 60$ And the pro remote that just came out is 30$ only too. If you buy the roku ultra and the remote on sale I bet you can get 2 of each compared to just 1 appletv. Even on black friday the appple tvs wontt be cheap
Prettty much using the apple tv was the only way to mirror or stream your apple ipad or iphones to the big screen. However you can now do this on roku. No addition software or paying 170$ was needed to do this.
The gui or menu for playing movies is still crap. Especially if u watch vudu movies or crunchyroll its awful. On roku ultra theres a back, chapters, auido, 4k quality, etc from a decent player view. Even with the new remote its really bad when you have to fast forward or scene select on the apple remote.
Digital movies or for those of us that had UV movies b4 Movies anywhere happen. Not all of them show up on apple. Even though it says its part of the movies anywhere library now I still had to rebuy them.
Channels- has all the channels I use but some channels like VUdu wheres the store, so I can buy stuff. On roku I can watch and buy my stuff. The channel selection is pretty ok I dont see any exclusives that pops up. I do love the twitch channel on apple tv. Theres twitch on chromecast, ipad, pc, but for us 4k watchers its nice to have on the big screen with a dolby atmos 7.1 soundbar, plus its super smooth an barely any delays.
I think its still good value if your a apple fan or non apple fan apple tv is great but the price and remote still gives it problems and the unique options it has compared to roku, chromecast, etc does make it difficult to choose which is best for you

Ok the reviews are pretty spot on. The movie sounds and looks great, but the packaging and care of the steel books is terrible.
You would think a steel book collection of steel books would come with a steelbook case to keep the other steel books safe but nope.
I understand its covid times, but if we had to wait a month or longer to get a proper steel book collection I wouldnt mind since we dont have enough workers and resources to meet demand. If I had to pay a little extra or 10$ to get that steelbook cover and wait 2 months I still wouldnt mind at least I know the product quality is being considered.
Bestbuy still has crappy shipping though. no bublewrap or plastic at least to protect the cases
Luckily I ordered 2 sets all the time now so at least I have a backup or keep the least damage set and return the extra for a FULL REFUND. This is the ez and fast way and saves me a ton of costumer service and going to the zillon best buy store for a decent copy
This release brings together every entry into Peter Jackson's critically-acclaimed The Lord of the Rings trilogy, based on the novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. Hobbit Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship embark on a dangerous quest to destroy the One Ring, and with it, its maker, the Dark Lord Sauron, in order to save Middle Earth forever. Included here are The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003).

First well done on the audio/vido quality of the movies. there is a real BIG difference if you have a 4k tv, 4k cables, 4k player, and dolb atmos sound system if have all those at your home. Even the the dark scenes or when you see Sauron in Morder, the battle scenes of Helms Deep Look great. My q7 soudbar is set only on 30 out of 100 volume and the battle of Gondor is geeking me out. The War cry of the Gondor Battles during Rohans March is geeking me out.
Now for the packaging and steelbooks I can honestly say there is some serious issues going on that bestbuy should address. Luckily I been ordering 2 copies or back up copies of every steel book case I get and I can honestly say “ BUY 2 copies of each steel book” You can always return the damage or least damage set back to any bestbuy and get a full refund if its unopen with original packaging. I been doing this for all my steel books and not once have I ever had a bestbuy employee refused my return. Plus it helps if u show them your receipt, but in most cases I just tell them my order number and thats it.
The extras or trailers, appendices etc are missing from the set, the only little minor issue I have is no extras but audio commentary only. Luckily I kept my old 2 dvd sets and blurays, so the trailers, documentaries, etc still have but would be nice to have more shelf space and just 1 set with all the extras not a book shelf of the same movie.
I didnt get any missing discs, nor crack discs, luckily it was just minor plastic tears, and thats it. see my pictures of the set and your find there is hope for guys looking for a little to no damage LOTR steel case set...
Other than the damage or missing disc problems the sets are great if you can find one. Lucky for me I preordered the first 5 minutes when bestbuy started the preorders and I told my buddies to preorder 2 copies of each too so best of luck to guys finding it. Yes the digital code does redeem as 4K too! Previosly on Game of Thrones 4k set only HD but thats not WB fault (set never said 4k DIGITAL COPY), some people have to understand that when guys say digital copy there is a “type” or many versions of a digital copy that most guys wont know. Digital could mean hdx, UHD, or just a standerd download version that could be hd/4k/480i. Anyways if you have a movies anywhere account( which you should you will be able to redeem lord of the rings as a 4k version which is playable on any movies anywhere app.. Since I have vudu, itunes, connected to my movies anywhere account I can view lotr 4k in either one without having to pay for each version. This is why you should redeem all your movies in movies anywhere first, so you dont have to keep paying to watch it in vudu, apple, google, sony etc.
Am happy with the set now if they only they can come out with a special features only set or the rumored bluray set with most or all the extras included my lord of the rings set is complete

Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to your Apple iPad 10.2" (7th Generation 2019) and USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) enabled Mac for syncing and charging. You can also use this cable with your Apple 29W, 61W, or 87W USB-C Power Adapter to charge your iOS device, and even take advantage of the fast-charging feature on iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
If I plug the USB-C end into my Nintendo Switch, can the Nintendo Switch charge my IPhone battery?
