Sure enough, I love my new MacBook Pro - but it only has USB-C ports. And all my stuff has USB-A plugs. So I got a couple of these and will use them every day until I get enough peripherals that have USB-C plugs.

simple and effective

I've owned six brother printers over the years. My previous one, however, showed "low toner" after not much use. Tired of recycling almost-full toner cartridges, I returned it to Best Buy for recycling of the machine and got this little gem. I've owned a 5250 for years - always dependable. Prints both sides and card stock (I print tickets for my rec center, thousands of them). Wireless is a plus - very easy to set up. I found a YouTube hack to get full use out of al toner cartridge, so I'll try that if I feel that it's quitting early.

From TV shows to movies to games, it~s all available on Apple TV. Enjoy content from iTunes and apps like Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu and ESPN ~ or use the Siri Remote to find just what you want.* You can even share all the photos you take with your iPhone on the big screen. Not Apple's finest. Hope for something better

We were ready to "cut the cable" and got an Apple TV. I've used this at our rec center to mirror-image and love it.
However - the remote with this has a mini-trackpad that's a bear to use. And using it to input my Apple ID password is just awful. Worse than texting on a flip phone (remember those?) Why not use a fingerprint on my iPhone? I did download the iPhone app for remote, and that was better. At least I could type it instead of using the remote to move over the entire alphabet to find it, letter by letter.
BTW, we went back to cable. I kept the Apple TV and will try to use it on another television at our winter home. The built-in shows were nothing that I wanted to watch and it's not easy to download apps to get the shows we did want. I want my Apple products to be easy to use and exceptional. This is neither.

Good portable hard drive with a USB-C cable

OK - most of these portable hard drives are good - not much difference between them (I'm still waiting for a SSD that's cheaper.... they're coming close). This one, however, comes with two cables to connect it to your computer - a standard USB-B high speed (the flat one with two parts that plugs into the PHD) and a standard USB-A plug that we've seen for years. The other is a USB-B high speed with a USB-C connector... the new MacBook Pro has four of these ports. So you get a faster connection with no adaptors. Nice! I'm using this connector with my other portable hard drives.

What's the difference between WD My Passport for Mac and a WD Easy Store? Does a Passport work better with Time Machine backup? I run High Sierra on a MacBook Pro and a Mac mini. I have a Passport now but it failed after 2 years.
All portable hard drives will fail. That's why you use more than one (I have four of them and alternate). Or just use iCloud.
I'm using Time Machine and it works fine. I think the only difference is the cables that are included. The MyPassport for Mac has a USB-C cable included so it plugs into the new MacBook Pro and New MacBook Air.

I have a MacBook Pro with a type C USB, will this work directly or are adapters needed?
It comes with two cords - one with the usual USB high speed (the flat one with two sections that you're used to that attaches to the PHD) to a USB-A (the most common one).
The other cord has a USB high speed to a USB-C. So it plugs directly into your new MacBook Pro. You can also use this cord for other PHDs that you have.
