I saw this game so hyped up months before its release, so perhaps my expectations were a bit high. I took the plunge when it was on sale during Black Friday, and just recently played through the prologue and first chapter before deciding to call it quits.
This game leaves a lot to be desired. It is so flat, boring, repetitive, and mundane. After playing games like God of War or even DMC, this title is nothing short of lackluster in all categories. The gameplay is mediocre, the voice acting is terrible, the world feels bare, and---most of all---I don't care about any of the characters.
Someone needs to inject some life into this.

One of the worst final fantasy games

I was duped. You know the saying? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me? That's what this feels like.
From my experience with Final Fantasy XIII, I should have known better than to jump on the bandwagon of a game that got so many raving reviews. Final fantasy games are a hit or miss, and I should have waited to jump into this one, maybe when it wasn't seventy bucks. But, because I needed a game to play and I had heard from fellow gamers that this was an incredible game, I bought it.
And what a mistake it was.
Hour-long cut scenes, and not the kind I enjoy. The characters were so stilted and...perfect? They almost looked like robots.
Terrible gameplay. I just keep spamming buttons every time I enter battle. And then there's the question of the "open world" aspect of this game. The plot is linear and leaves very little room for exploration. It's trying to be The Witcher, but it's clearly not.
Unless you're a hardcore final fantasy fan, stay away from this.

Beautiful, but horrible connection

The lights are beautiful, no doubt about it. It's cool that you can create different color patterns. The set-up on the wall wasn't too bad, either, and the mounting tape doesn't destroy your paint if you do it right.
But what is UP with that app?
For the life of me, I could not get it to connect, neither on my phone or iPad. I couldn't add it to iHome because my devices wouldn't pick up the accessory. It was the most frustrating experience on earth. I called BestBuy because I'm a TotalTech member, and they couldn't help me. After a few hours, I finally managed to reset it and get it on my iPad. Siri was able to turn them on and off.
A week later, and Siri can't connect to them anymore. She turned off all the hue lamps, but NOT the Nanoleaf panels. I tried resetting it again, but I'm having the hardest time getting them to work.
I would say think twice before purchasing these. They are super expensive, too.
I should have bought another hue lamp.

We came into Best Buy with a TV in mind, and turned out that another TV was a better fit. Coming into the store and seeing the TV for yourself is vital. Talking to a consultant even more so, for they're there to answer any questions you have.
My only complaint would have to be the delivery time. They gave you a large window (7am - 7pm) and don't give you an exact hour until the day before. Changing it is a royal pain. I wish Best Buy would allow you to choose a smaller time frame for your deliveries.

Resident Evil VIII was a great game, so if you are a returning Resident Evil player, don't hesitate to purchase it any further. The game has all of the classic gameplay mechanics fans are familiar with: puzzles, weapon upgrades, and scary moments. I found it was definitely worth the sixty bucks and I can't wait to see what the next installment will bring.
The reason why I am knocking off a star is because of the trophies. I typically platinum Resident Evil games, but this one seemed out of reach for me. I feel like I have to play it way too many times to complete every quest, and during the second play through, I found myself a bit disinterested since I already knew the story and the twists.
Either way, it's worth it!

I got this on pre-order when it first came out. I am a huge TLOU fan, as I played the first one over ten times from beginning to end. I was highly anticipating this one, and I have to say that the graphics, gameplay, and characters were awesome! I gave it four stars because I am disappointed with the turn the story took, as a lot of fans are, but I had to suck it up and deal with it to see what the writers deemed fit as an ending to this series (if it is an ending?). Overall, it's not bad, but it didn't surpass the first one, not by a long shot.
