Connect more devices to the main audio source with these Samson Tourtek Pro breakout cables. The oxygen-free copper design offers unadulterated sound transmission, while the 18K gold-plated plugs withstand heavy use. These heavy-duty Samson Tourtek Pro breakout cables feature a helical shield for reducing noise to ensure high-quality audio reproduction and work seamlessly with devices supporting 3.5mm jacks.

Works as Y cable. Does not shield against Bb EMF.

I purchased this since it was listed as being a shielded cable. Although the wire has braiding, it's ability to provide shielding is worse than a standard Y cable you can buy cheaper.
Since the cable DOES function, I still gave it 3 stars. Since the cables shielding is worse than no shielding, I could not give more stars than that. I feel it would be fine in a low noise environment, but don't count on it to provide shielding.

Preferred by DVD drive manufacturers, Verbatim DVD media continues to set the standard for high-speed disc performance, reliability, and compatibility. DVD+R Double Layer nearly doubles the storage capacity with two AZO recording layers on a single-sided disc. Certified and supported by the industry high speed Double Layer writers, Verbatim discs are approved for high speed burning up to 6x speeds. Store up to 8.5GBs of video in approximately 16 minutes or less while maintaining compatibility with most DVD video players or DVD-ROM drives. All backed by Verbatim's limited lifetime warranty.

Connect external speakers to your stereo receiver with this 3.5mm Samson Tourtek Pro Breakout cable. The 18K gold-plated plugs resist corrosion, while the helical shield and carbon-impregnated polyethylene insulation reject RF/EMI interference for quality audio. This Samson Tourtek Pro Breakout cable has PVC jackets, which stand up to heavy use for reliable durability.

How far apart can the two plugs be?

Assuming the plugs both plug in parallel to each other into the same panel, the 1/4" jacks can be up to about 18 inches apart.
