I've always chosen netgear over anything else. Netgear has never failed, and works flawlessly.

Tackle tech problems with this Insignia PC tool kit. It has everything you need for do-it-yourself computer repairs and upgrades, including a 10-bit screwdriver set, LED flashlight, needle-nose pliers, antistatic wristband and tweezers. This Insignia PC tool kit is conveniently housed in a compact zippered case for easy transport.

Are the screws in the kit hex or philips and are they small enough to fit most laptop screw holes? I can't find where to buy screws small enough for my laptop

The screws are either hex or Phillips screws. No, they are not designed for laptops, only for PC. As far as purchasing screws for a laptop, your best bet is to get them on Ebay, Amazon, or maybe a third party PC website, ie, newegg.
