Bought this modem since I bumped up my speed to 400mbps and also to eliminate my monthly bill from optimum which was $11.00. I called to set up the modem and optimum said, The modem is not compatible for phone service. So now I’m paying triple play with no phone service hopefully soon they will be an update from netgear to solve this issue. If not I might have to switch to a different service provider. If you have optimum do not buy this modem especially if you have triple play this modem won’t allow you to use your phone according to optimum. I would only recommend if you have double play which is cable & WiFi.

I bought this modem last month and have the triple play. I have a question for you, are you currently using a phone as well. The reason is because a optimum rep said its not compatible and said that I could only use for internet so therefore let me know if you're using with a phone line also or triple play thanks.
