To save his declining business, Chris Cringle (Mel Gibson), also known as Santa Claus, is forced into a partnership with the U.S. military. Good movie, fun. Premium Rush was heavily inspired by it. It has a dingy color palate that takes me back to 80's NYC (and Frisco for a hill race). The transfer is pristine from beginning to end. The master reel must have been only viewed once and properly stored. RLJ did a very good job puting this together. No extras though.

With terrific acting performances by its 7 member main cast, written banter nearly identical to that of myself and my friends in our youth, and all set in the heavy metal 80's, this film had every opportunity to be a cult classic. This film could have leaned more heavily on 80's nostalgia and the campy humor of 80's horror. Instead it leans on tension and suspense like so many modern horror films do. It's not a bad movie; It's just not great...and it could have been.
