2000s Nostalgia here we go!

I remember watching this movie in my teen years and obsessed with Tomb Raider and Angelina Jolie. Talk about nostalgia! Keep in mind, I remember vaguely what the plot was about. All I remember was she was a fighting a pretty sweet looking robot in a training simulator and a pretty neat shower scene that was left to the imagination. Fast forward to NOW! With the same optimism I had many years ago, we go back with Blu Ray quality. The movie was as 2000 as I can remember. The dialogue is awful, the plot is good, and the action is there. Familiar actor faces and the fleshed out performance of Lara Croft still holds up. Basically, the character development/introduction was perfect back then but the movie itself was an eye roller. I'd recommend it because when you really think about how far movies and video game movies progressed, we've made huge advancements. Also take into consideration that directors back then had to work with what they were given and its fair to say that Tomb Raider is a good movie that tries to stay true to the character and her nature of tomb raiding.

Rent it first and buy if you love the character

Great price(half off) during Black Friday sale but the movie has yet to really grow on me. Margot did a really good job portraying a live action Harley Quinn but the story was a few slices short of a ham sandwich. For half price, I really shouldnt bash this movie too hard. The biggest disappointment was when Black Canary was given the opportunity/forced to use her power to help the main characters and when the time came it was very underwhelming. The sound effect for her scream was very weak, it was like going on a date with the most beautiful girl and you only last like 10 seconds in the sack. On top of that, lots of mixed messages about whether Harley wanted to be a hero or anti hero, the little thief girl was also an annoying character who had a terrible attitude and no real character build up. The movie should not have been called Birds of Prey because they only ever brought everyone together towards the very end of the movie. This entire film was everywhere and nowhere. Also they made Black Mask a "intimidating" lunatic rather than a organized and calculating crime boss. Not sure if they wanted to make a realistic approach to the characters like The Dark Knight or if my familiarity with the actual characters overriding what they tried to mimic on screen but this is not a Harley Quinn movie we deserve.

Highly disappointed by the amount of hype that went into this, not including the fanbase behind the Marvel franchise but mostly to sponsored reviews and critics.
The storyline is great but the gameplay is tedious and monotonous. You can easily run through the campaign as it is a pretty compelling story if you admire the characters. The story follows Kamala Khan, an upcoming Ms.Marvel, as she tries to unite the Avengers and help figure out what A.I.M is upto with innocent civilians who've been afflicted with mutant powers after A-Day.
The game does a fair job letting you play through certain parts of the story through the perspective of each member and has you choose who you want to play as and who you want to accompany you on missions.
The main issue I have is the repetitive button mashing to fight enemies. Some button mashers do a good job with defeating even the lowliest henchmen, but this game really makes it a chore to beat up your enemies into a pulp. The first couple hours is great but when you really need to progress the story and complete the dreaded "Collect X amount of items to improve a Plot Device before you continue" really makes it slow and underwhelming.
Bottom line is, you really need to be a diehard fan to look past the flaws and enjoy the game in its entirety. If you are a casual gamer who just wants to get the achievements and experience another story from Marvel, I would recommend waiting for a sale of less than $39.99.

I was skeptical about the film quality on blu ray because on Starship Troopers blu ray, there was heavy film grain which sort of distracted from the movie but was not a big deal! Big Trouble in Little China blew me away! Crystal clear graphics and still lives up to be a top notch action movie to this day! Highly recommended, especially at $4.99!
