Getting a couple of HDMI cords at the cost of a surge protector..not bad. The HDMI cables aren't as nice as the rocketfish gold plated HDMI cables that I bought there preety cheap on black friday. They aren't as thick and don't have the gold plating. But, they work.

How do you install?
Fits best in a laptop. Remove bottom cover to gain access to old harddrive. Unplug battery. Remove old hard drive. Install this new hard drive in its place. Reconnect battery. Boot into BIOS to check to make sure computer is in AHCI mode. While in BIOS, change boot settings so you can boot from your OS installation media.
Pretty much the same for a desktop, just have more room. Easier to get to hard drives. May need an 2.5" to 3.5" adapter to get drive to fit right.

Is it possible to add this to my HP 21 all-in-one (model 21-H116)? I need to know if I can switch out the dvd drive and add this as the primary boot drive, keeping the original HDD drive for storage?
Yes, you should be able to. However, all in ones typically have crazy proprietary brackets holding everything in place inside. For example, one you remove the plastic back cover, likely only possible after removing the stand, then you can see inside. You probably won't be able to see much because there will be metal covers/ shields/, brackets everywhere. You will have to take those off next. Good luck!

In short, yes. It can replace the 1TB drive for sure. However, the Best Buy website mentions: "This Dell Inspiron laptop has memory and PCIe slots for further expansion." I would look into that somewhere on Dell's website using your serial # or repair tag to get full specifications and know what they mean by this. You may potentially have an extra empty slot for a SSD and can keep your 1TB drive for storage. Just have to do some research to see.

Most laptops use a 2.5 inch form factor hard drive and that's what this is so yes it can fit. After a quick browse, it appears that your laptop may have two hard drive slots/options: 1TB 7200 RPM HDD + 1x Empty M.2 PCIe NVMe
The 1 TB drive should be kept and used for storage. (if it isn't bad already, it may be slow but as long as it still works keep it for storage). Search for a M.2 PCIe solid state drive instead. This way you can fill the empty slot in your laptop with a faster hard drive and keep the slow hard drive for storage.

My original SSD (Samsung 2.5" 256 Gb (SATA 6.0Gbs) which came with my HP All in One Recline 27 Smart Touch I purchased in 2014 , crashed. I have lost my OS (Windows 10). How can I install it in the 860 EVO, if I buy it?

You can download Windows 10 directly from Microsoft's website and install it onto a USB flash drive (they have instructions there on how to do this). You will need to use another computer for this as yours is down for repair. Once you have Windows 10 installation media of some kind, you will have to physically install your new SSD and then use the flash drive to reinstall Windows 10. Depending on the innards of your HP, you may need a bracket to help mount the SSD correctly. Brackets can be purchased almost anywhere.
If you logged into your HP All-in-one pc with a Microsoft account before (email address), instead of just a Local account, then Microsoft will have associated that computer's install and Windows serial key with your login and Windows will activate automatically. They quit putting the stickers on pc's with the Windows serial key so I doubt you have one of those stickers.
I'm afraid all of your old installed programs and files will probably be lost though. Unless you backed anything up or used cloud storage.

Can this be used to replace a HDD in the Samsung sf511 laptop from 2011?
Hi Brandon, typically all laptops will use a 2.5 inch form factor hard drive that utilize SATA for their transfer interface. Depending on the age of your laptop it will be using SATA2 or SATA3, but it will be SATA regardless. As long as your laptop utilizes what 90% of laptops that age used, then yes this SSD will fit and work.
The exception is Chromebooks which commonly don't use hard drives. They use emmc storage flash memory instead usually around 32gb.
I don't think your laptop is a "Chromebook" so I think your safe to assume this drive will work for you.
