As usual when a steelbook sells out, angry fanboys who snoozed or were too late to order a copy give a bad rating to the product to try to "get back" at Best Buy. The negative review is unwarranted. Oppenheimer is one of Nolan's greatest achievements and a timely story to tell of the man who was in charge of the Manhattan Project, inventing nuclear weapons for the US. With potential war looming with nuclear powers China and Russia, it is important to understand the genesis of the cold war that was fraught with the tension of a potential nuclear winter.
The story of Oppenheimer is revealed through the lens of a key congressional hearing. In typical Nolan fashion, we are treated to profound sights and sounds as we travel back to Oppenheimer's formative years as a physics student, his tenure as a theoretical physics professor, and his appointment to lead the Manhattan Project in his spiritual refuge of New Mexico. The story is told expertly by Nolan, juggling the physicist's academic and love life as well as his career achievements as downfall by a kangaroo court set up by a jilted political appointee.
The 4K definition is amazing to behold with the shifting aspect ratio revealing when Nolan used IMAX cameras for the production. Music and dialog are awesome as well, with the Dolby Atmos sound engineering. And of course the steelbook offers a wonderful keepsake, with the embossed title. My one complaint is that the flames were not as vibrant on the steelbook cover as they are in the photo here on the website. But of course, if you angle the light to reflect of the steelbook, it brightens the colors considerably and it's nonissue. No one should rate this film or steelbook less than 5 stars.

Before The Big Lebowski achieved a cult following, I saw it in the theaters. The Coen Brothers were already my favorite filmmakers and I knew this would be good. I took a date and I was laughing the whole time while she didn't laugh once. Anyway, this 4K steelbook package does justice to the film, with excellent picture and sound. The definition shows textures, fabrics and skin details exceptionally well, including the pattern of the rug that really tied the room together. The steelbook artwork captures the feeling of "The Dude" in a wonderful keepsake. Highest recommendations.
High-spirited InchhookyInch comedy from John Hughes stars Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, an ~ber-popular Chicago high school student who recruits girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) and best pal Cameron (Alan Ruck) for an unauthorized day off on a beautiful spring day. Tooling around in Cameron's dad's Ferrari, the trio will have to stay one step ahead of tenacious dean of students, Edward R. Rooney (Jeffrey Jones). With Jennifer Grey, Edie McClurg. 102 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

This film came out when I was a senior in high school and it sort of epitomized the experience of senioritis in a suburban setting. I've seen it mostly on VHS on a small NTSC TV and then forgotten about it for nearly 40 years. So rediscovering it with my kid, who just started middle school, on a 77" 4K OLED with this release was a revelation. The dynamics, detail and colors added new presence and vibrancy. And the steelbook is a great keepsake to enjoy. Highest recommendations.

Where's the love? I feel the three reviews submitted thus far are not representative of the quality of this set. Two of the reviewers received damaged steelbooks. While this can be frustrating, it is the fault of the company's shipping quality control or delivery service and should not effect a review of the actual item. Simply exchange the damaged steelbook for a new one.
The 3rd review gave bad marks to the video quality. But I found the 4K to be a revelation. Granted, the last time I watched these films was on VHS and a small NTSC TV. Now I have a 77" 4k LG OLED TV and I was amazed by the detail and color dynamics of the films. They will not win any quality awards, as the original films were not shot on the greatest filmstock, and the effects by today's standards are farcical. But the 4K production strikes the proper balance between showing the flaws on the original film and cleaning it up with digital tools for high resolution. It's undoubtedly a major upgrade over previous versions. The audio too is dynamic and offers greater definition than other home video formats.
Lastly, the steelbook is a nice keepsake that arrived in flawless condition. I think the entire package actually deserves 3-4 stars because the movies are--let's face it--not the greatest and the quality has minor flaws that would normally cause me to take off a star or two. But the previous reviews were undeservedly negative and I am submitting a five-star review mainly to get a more proper balance for these classics from the '80s.

Not the greatest trilogy, The Kingsman is fun to watch if you're in the mood for crazy action sequences, seamless CGI and a rousing soundtrack. With 4K video and Dolby Atmos audio, the fun is dialed up. But I'm deducting 2 stars because the outer box is not steelbook, but cheap cardboard. You may as well get your favorite Kingsman film on 4K steelbook and avoid the set.

The Hurt Locker is not a traditional war movie. Sure, there are some fighting scenes and (of course) powerful explosions. But it is more of a character portrait of a bomb difuse engineer, played to perfection by Jeremy Renner. His real-life chance-taking based on the recent accident with his snow vehicle help to show why this role is perfect for him. The Dolby Atmos audio and 4k video presentation are far superior to the original blu-ray, and the cover artwork make the steelbook a worthy keepsake for this Oscar-winning film.

Rockstar and Sony did a good job producing these classic games for PS4/5. These were the original games that inspired me to buy a PS3 and many hours were spent enjoying them. By today's standards, they are quite dated and low-resolution. But they look and sound better than ever now, based on my experience on PS5. GTA was the franchise that made Rockstar the most important company in gaming. I recommend every gamer see how it started.

Shang-Chi has not been more broadly important to the MCU family, but my daughter and I greatly enjoyed the film. Coincidentally, we were just at Ghirardelli Square for the fourth of July and remembered the scene at the beginning of Shang-Chi, when the bus is chopped in half, loses its brakes, and goes tearing down the street next to the square. Just one of many memorable and highly entertaining scenes in the film.
In terms of video and audio reproduction, the 4K yields a theater-like experience with high resolution. The 4K features artwork that makes the packaging more special. It becomes a treasured keepsake instead of just a piece of plastic on a shelf. Highly recommended.

With each successive home video production of this film, I was appreciative of the little details that would emerge. But this 4K version is truly a revelation and the cool artwork on the steelbook makes for an excellent keepsake. Details in facial expressions, fabric on clothes, metal surfaces and the general color tones and contrast are far superior to even the blu-ray version. The audio is also much improved. Highest recommendations. Despite the theatrical release in 1967, the movie looks and sounds like it could have been produced yesterday.

Without getting into the merits of the film itself or the video/audio reproduction of this high definition release, I find Disney's artwork for the steelbooks offensive. We all know that the original Star Wars films (A New Hope was the first) had no relation to Disney when they were made. I greatly enjoyed it in the theater as a kid more than 40 years ago. For Disney to buy Lucasfilm recently and then include Star Wars as part of its century campaign is irritating and the artwork does not do justice to this groundbreaking (at the time of its release) movie. Save some money and get a different version.
After his life is shattered by tragedy, legendary assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is forced out of retirement to take on the world's most intense villains in this trilogy of action movies. Included here is John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.

Digital Downloaded Restricted to Vudu only!
ByBbyshopper1115
This is a bit upsetting as there was no way to know this until you open the case and try to redeem the digital download code.
John Wick 1 and 2 are only able to activated on Vudu, I wanted these to be activated on Apple TV(iTunes Movies) instead.
John Wick 3 was able to be activated on Apple TV. So now this bundle is split across 2 different streaming providers.
There really needs to be a disclaimer stating what streaming providers are supported!
Would love to return this, however the package has been opened, and now I am no longer able to.

You're not reviewing Vudu

Yes, everyone knows Vudu sucks and that some titles from some distributors force you to use Vudu for the digital copy. But you bought a Steelbook version of these films presumably to play the 4K discs, and you didn't review those whatsoever.
