A great travel dock, but an ok replacement dock

This makes for a great travel dock for the Switch 2. The smaller profile makes this a great dock to take on trips. It can switch between stand mode and TV mode effortlessly. True to the box, it can do 4k for the switch 2. However, there is a caveat. The dock does support 4k. It also supports HDR. But it cannot do both 4K and HDR at the same time. This was confirmed by the manufacturer. Supposedly, it can do 1440p and HDR, but I can't confirm that since I don't have a native 1440p display nor do I have a display that supports it. It's for this reason that I can't recommend this as a replacement for the standard dock if you have a 4k display.
Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the dock bricking your switch 2. USB-C compliance has come a long way since the switch days. I don't anticipate any bricking for Switch 2 systems. As for the functionality of TV mode, that depends on how long Nintendo will allow it functionality on third-party docks. It works for now, but that can change in a future update.
One other thing, this dock kit does not come with an HDMI cable. You will need to supply your own. So be prepared for that.
Overall, I'd say this was a good purchase for me. While this isn't a great replacement dock for me, it's an excellent dock for trips.
Note: despite it saying it's compatible for Switch 1 systems, I would not recommend it. While Switch 2 systems may be safe from bricking on third-party docks, Switch 1 systems are a different story.

Does anyone know how to get the dock to output in 4k. The box says that its 4k compatible and I am using a 4k cable on a 4k display and I have the Switch 2 to display 4k. Yet, the the dock output information in says that it's only outputting 1920 x 1080.

Has his been tested? I just don't wanna get my Switch 2 bricked.
You shouldn't need to worry about bricking your Switch 2. USB-C compliance has come a long way since they days of the Switch 1. You should be able to use the Dock kit to charge the system just fine without bricking the system.
Whether you'll be able to play games on the TV with this dock is a different matter. It should work for now, but whether it stays that way depends on Nintendo.

Will it brick your switch 2? Make your switch 2 inoperable? Due to power/wattage requirements.
If you're concerned about bricking the switch when using a third-party dock, I have heard you can reduce the chances of that happening by swapping out the included AC adapter for an official nintendo Switch 2 adapter. Even then, it's not a guarantee. I'd recommend holding off on getting any third-party docks for the time being. If we don't hear anything about the docks bricking systems,
