I was worried BB would have been closed before I could finish at work today, so I played it safe and had it shipped. Apparently that’s the right move. How does a company as big as Best Buy not have preorders ready for pickup on release day?!?!

If you want to plug any HDMI 2.1 compatible devices into this thing, be prepared to make some sacrifices. If you've got a setup that prioritizes current-gen gaming or non-streaming movies, it's a no.
A masterclass in underutilization. Not using Spotify, then sorry, you can't sync the music to your lights. Streaming in Dolby Vision on a very specific streaming stick, tough luck kid, you're not getting a light show. Want to pass your X-Box Series X or PS5 through this, that's a shame, you just lost support for VRR, 120 Hz refresh, Quick Frame Transport, and Auto Low Latency.
This box is sooo darn cool too, I loved this thing when I first got it, but it's done nothing but upset me lately. Being able to have the lights in my room match what's on screen was breathtaking at the start, but it's not anymore. Plugging anything into it now means sacrificing image or sound quality, and I'd rather not do either.

Honestly, thank you for the mentions in this. I was considering a Philips centered setup but I had hesitations re: losing auto latency mode on a ps5. Beyond that, I use internal apps on my Sony TV and really like having everything controlled by one remote. To use this to its fullest, I'd be forced to use an outside device and run it through the syncbox to get the full experience. It also seems crazy to me that this is as expensive as it is.

does this TV run on DSL. Or do I need cable?
The TV itself will still function with DSL as long as that is connected to some sort of WiFi router to create a network. Now the apps themselves may be very sluggish or close to unusable since the download speeds will be very slow compared to the modern network speeds these apps rely on to function.
