Roku still a great choice, now with Airplay!

Had Roku Streaming Stick (3800R) for about two years. Unfortunately, 3800R doesn't support Airplay since Roku introduced it with the latest (9.4 OS) update. So, we decided to replace it with Streaming Stick+ (3810R). Unplugged the old one, plugged in the new one, device updated itself to the latest software, hopped on over to Roku's website, activated the Stick+ and device automatically downloaded and installed all our apps from the old device (login credentials for each and every app had to be re-entered on the new device, which is to be expected). Noice!
To be honest, we don't see any difference in speed between the two devices, I think maybe the new one's remote has a mute button which the old one didn't. Other than that, don't know, both were connected to our 5Ghz network, none of the apps were or are lagging, BUT Airplay is now supported and it works as advertised. Still have to try casting from our iPad to all four Sonos speakers and Stick+ at the same time. Should work. We'll see.
On a side note. Do not forget to check Roku's forum/website for a list of Roku devices that support Airplay, if you're interested in buying a Roku and want to use Airplay. Not all devices support Airplay even if they are updated with the latest 9.4 Roku OS!
Anyway, if you're interested in Roku, I'd suggest to at least start with Streaming Stick+ and skip Express, Express+ and Premiere. With Stick+ you get long range wireless, volume and power controls on the remote (plus mute button), and 4K support. Others either have one feature, but not the other. So, it's worth to spend 10-20$ more on Stick+. Short of going all out and splurging on Nvidia Shield, Roku is your best choice for a streaming device. Ok, maybe some Android boxes like Verizon's and TiVO's boxes have some advatnages over Roku, but if you're familiar with the Roku ecosystem and want to freshen up, go for it. Especially when/if on sale.

Gets the job done, happy campers!

Bought it on sale and combined it with a 50$ gift card. After taxes and with 4yr Geek Squad protection, 75$ total. Great deal. Was worried it might not work for us since our TV doesn't have HDMI ARC, but it did. Well, except for the audio coming from our OTA, but that was to be expected since the TV doesn't have ARC (Audio Return Channel). No biggie, OTA is fake news and commercials anyways.
As for the sound quality, it's ok. No audiophiles here, but it gets the job done. One thing though, unless ClearDialogue mode is engaged, sometimes having trouble hearing the dialogue. Will try messing around with DTS, Dolby codec configurations on our PC, since most of the stuff is streamed from there. On the other hand, sound (dialogue first and foremost) coming from FireTV, Xbox One and Roku is fine.
Included remote has a handy dandy LCD display, so it's easy to configure the bar to your liking. There are Movie, Game, Music and Dialogue modes, bass and treble controls and a few effects, such as VirtualSurround and TruVolume, and on top of that there's a Night Mode, which tones down the bass and effects. Pretty nifty. Oh, and there's an option to use the remote with Vizio TVs, but we don't have one so don't know how that works. Also, Bluetooth is available, but we have yet to try it. Same goes for optical as well as RCA inputs and the heaphone jack (which, AFAIK, you can use to connect your smart assitant of choice, so it will use the soundbar instead of its own speaker).
Our setup, if anyone finds it helpful is: Roku, Xbox, FireTV and PC connected to 4 inputs @ Caavo Control Center and its output connected to HDMI-in @ soundbar. From there, HDMI-out to HDMI-in (not ARC) on our TV. Caavo's remote control can turn on and off the entire setup (Caavo+device+soundbar+TV), and we also have volume/mute control too. Sometimes we lose the display for the volume up/down controls on our TV, but it's easily resolved by going into Caavo's settings, selecting the TV and entering the setup for its control settings (no need to go through a full setup, simply start it, and then exit).
All in all, satisfied with the purchase. Too bad it's only a 2.1 soundbar, but for the price we paid, can't complain.
Recommended.

Nice, but clock works only with internet connectio

We bought this item for the clock capabilities exclusively. A bit weird, but that's how it is. Voice commands do work, streaming from Spotify does work, and I guess alarms do work too. But, the clock function works only for about 24 hours without an internet connection and then the device displays error message warning you to connect to the internet. This is a major design flaw. A clock that doesnt work without internet. Which genius came with that idea up?
Anyways, we got it on sale for 50$ and we had a few gift cards lying around so it came down to like 10$. Still using it as a clock primarily, even though we have to keep it connected to the internet. Two stars down just for that, a presumably basic function, but not according to Lenovo and/or Google. It's a hefty device, and it's beyond comprehension how Lenovo wasn't able to find space to strap a cr2032 batteyr of some sort to the device's internals. I'm thinking maybe it wasn't an oversight, but it was done on purpose, to force users to have this microphone equipped device connected to the internet 24/7 (there is a physical button on the back that supposedly disables the internal microphone, so I guess we should take Google at their word lol). Bonus, it doesn't have camera built-in, haha.
Anyways, the quality and build of the device are great, so yeah, if it's on sale and you have 20-30$ in gift cards you don't know what to spend on, go for it. Recommended-ish.

Shipping was fast, so thumbs up for Best Buy. V5 is an ok phone, but it could be much better. Then again, for 90$ you can't really complain. We use this phone for Sim City exclusively, meaning we didn't even put a sim card in it, so phone call quality wise we can't say much. On the other hand, regarding battery life, screen, gaming performance and overall feel of the phone, we sure can say a few things about those. Battery life is ok. Again, we don't know how it does when used for phone calling etc. Screen is ok, although it has a pretty high resolution, so games look kinda weird. In case of Sim City, everything is tiny, unlike on our other phones. But, for general use, resolution is fine. Some people do complain about the touch sensitivity of the screen, and we can testify to that. Although, the included screen protector might be the culprit. This being a totally unknown phone, getting replacement screen protectors and cases might be difficult. We didn't like the included silicone case, because the buttons on the side were too senstivive to touch. We initially thought there must be a problem with the case (recessed button cutouts were too shallow, or something), but it turns out the phone's back covering was the culprit. We bought two replacement back covers from eBay (since we were thinking of ditching the silicone case, and just using the phone without it, which means it will get scratched, so it would be better to have a back cover replacement or two lying around). We replaced the phone's back cover and all of a sudden the buttons on the side, while phone was in the silicone case that comes with it, had much more resistance to them. So, yeah. It's a 90$ phone, things like these were to be expected. But what was not expected and it's the biggest gripe for us when it comes to this phone is the volume rocker on the left side. Horrible placement. Just horrible. All buttons should be on one side, period. Because, when you put phone in landscape mode, you are bound to press those volume buttons and it is super annoying. A quick fix is to rotate the entire phone. Also, wish the phone had a tad more RAM. It rocks Android 9, and I wish it had Android 8, experience would be much smoother. Anyways, recommended(ish). If your expectations aren't too high. Maybe it would be better to invest 50-60$ more and get a Motorola, or or something else when on sale (got a Moto X4, which is a 250-300$ phone, for 130$ on sale, for instance), even though those ones often get bad reviews.

Got it on sale for 16$, so defintiely satisfied with the purchase. In fact, bought two of them within a span of a week. Shipping was in both cases fast, as always is with Best Buy, thumbs up. There is a distinctive smell when you open the box, but letting the pad air out for 24hrs helps a lot. The only minor gripe is that it could be an inch or two wider (length is great, though). Also, once put in place it stays put. Recommended.

Excellent product with a few minor gripes
on January 20, 2020

Verified Purchase:Yes
First and foremost, build quality is excellent. There's some weight to it, which is always more than welcomed when it comes to speakers. Second, the sound is more than decent, although sometimes (depends on the source material, e.g. bitrate/compression quality/other factors, obviously) low end is either too present, or there's a lack of it. Not a major problem, you can balance the speaker's low end/high end with an EQ in the app. App itself is ok, works fine, although sometimes it does have trouble finding the speaker(s) (suggestion: install SONOS app on a few devices, so if one device is having troubles, the second or third one won't). We've tried local playback, and it does work just fine (you have to add your music library in SONOS desktop app). FLAC, mp3, WAV... all formats play well (didn't try APE). A few gripes though. There's no power button on the speaker itself. Tend not to trust devices that don't have a power button, but this one is working just fine for now. Second, there's no bluetooth and you're not able to route your TV/tablet/phone through the speaker, unless you have an Apple device and unless the app on your Apple device supports AirPlay. We are able to route Netflix/Youtube/Hulu from our iPad to our Sonos speaker just fine, but GarageBand is a no go, mainly due to the fact that AirPlay (this is more of an Apple weird problem, which is hard to comprehend) is not a system based feature, but rather per app based feature (app has to have AirPlay functionality enabled in the code). That being said, AirPlay for Netflix/Hulu/Youtube/BR/ESPN on SONOS works great. Of course, if you sport a SONOS playbar, then you'll be able AFAIK to route the sound from your TV through the playbar to each individual speaker. We don't own one, so can't confirm if and how it works. Anyway, a great purchase. Could be a tad cheaper, though. Recommended.

Can the soundbar be powered on along with the TV via detection of activity on the optical port, like Samsung soundbars do? We do not have ARC port on our TV.

Simplify your TV experience with this Caavo control center. The main unit~s four HDMI inputs let you connect cable and media boxes and game consoles, so you can switch between components easily and search for content in one place. Operate this Caavo control center hands-free via Amazon Alexa, Google Voice, the included voice-activated remote, or the Caavo mobile app (iOS).

Will this replace xxfinity box? Does it have recording functionality.

No. This product has absolutely no recording capabilities. It's a HDMI switch. You can connect up to 4 HDMI devices to it and then connect the device to your TV. It's remote control unit will replace (to a certain extent) your other remote control units so you can use the same remote to navigate Xbox/Playstation, Roku, Fire TV, Nvidia Shield, Blu-Ray player etc.
