Major headaches

Paid for this and professional install. The installer brought the wrong kit and instead of getting the right kit, told us to get a refund from Best Buy and get our own self-install kit! Best Buy refunded us AND had the right kit in stock, which they gave us for free. But what an ordeal. Pro tip, check if your vent outlet is circular (normal) or oval (like ours was). If it's oval be prepared for major headaches. Have your own handyman on standby in case the one Best Buy hires is a joke like ours turned out to be. Doing it yourself isn't worth the trouble!

A must-have for washers and dryers these days

Highly recommended for any washer and dryer these days. "They don't make em like they used to" is a saying that applies to washers and dryers more than maybe any other expensive appliance. I think there's maybe one or two brands that still make washers and dryers in America, and they're not super well known, and even they don't make their new ones like they used to. But literally everything else is Chinese or South Korean and designed to be unrepairable and fail within 5 years. Geek Squad warranties are legit, and 5-years' peace of mind is worth every penny.

This dryer cord is required for successful hook-up of your new appliance. Our delivery personnel will determine whether a 3- or 4-prong cord is needed based on the outlet behind your existing dryer.

Perfect fit

We paid for professional installation on this so I don't know how difficult it would be to install yourself. But there are like 10 different styles of 220V appliance outlet pin-outs, which is why electric dryers, range stoves, etc make you buy this part separately. The installer needs to install the one that fits YOUR outlet. Anyway, smooth process, perfect fit, we recommend the professional installation for this part.

First of all, delivery was delayed about 3 times. The cost of that was refunded after dealing with Best Buy customer service multiple times. Second, when the delivery guy finally did show up with the dryer, he neglected to install the water line for the dryer's steam function. Since he did properly install the washer, using up both the hot and cold spigots, that meant I had to go back to Best Buy for a short hose and two-way splitter, and a third hose for the steam function, and then reinstall all of it myself. So Best Buy refunded the installation costs as well, and gave me the parts for free. Third, the installer didn't bring the right kit to hook up the dryer vent, and instead of solving the problem himself, told us to go get our own and get a refund from Best Buy. Wow! So I had to go get the kit from Best Buy (free) and install it myself (not free, I had to go buy new tools to do it). If you enjoy climbing over your new dryer and possibly denting it in the process, and then sitting in tight, dark, dusty spaces dealing with sharp metal fittings, you'll have fun. Can't really fault Best Buy as they use independent contractors for installation. They supplied all the parts we needed and refunded all of the parts and labor we paid for that the useless installer couldn't help with. YMMV but learn from our experience and have a backup plan ready, either your own tools and a wide open Saturday, or a handyman you can hire if/when the delivery guy turns out to be useless at installing.

Perfect fit for the washing machine we bought. I like how Best Buy recommends the correct accessories you need for install so you can easily include them in your cart for checkout. If you're buying a washer and a dryer, make sure if the dryer has a steam function that you get a hose for that too, and then make sure you get a two-way splitter AND a shorty hose that runs from the water source to the splitter. Otherwise you'll be making multiple trips back and forth to Best Buy or the hardware store.

Have had this dryer four months now and no issues. Good variety of cycles and does a good job getting laundry dry. Comes with a steam function, so make sure your installation includes a second water line, a two-way splitter, and a short water line from the water source to the splitter. The 7.8 cu.ft. dryer matches the 4.8 cu.ft. washer, and the nickel finish is very pretty. You can buy a riser platform for the unit separately if this seems a little short after install. Recommend GE over any South Korean washer/dryers after our last Samsung pair. The dryer lasted 5 years but not the washer. So highly recommend investing in the Geek Squad protection plan whatever you end up buying.

Installer hooked up the washing machine fine, but failed to notice the dryer had a steam function, so I had to go back and get a two-way splitter and another water line from Best Buy to reinstall everything myself. Best Buy gave us the parts for free and refunded our installation costs, but when I pay for professional installation, I don't expect to end up doing everything myself. Not to mention delivery got delayed about 3 times. Just make sure if you don't have the tools or the knack for self-install, watch the installer and make sure he does it right the first time.
