One Christmas in Camelot, the revels were interrupted by a hulking, emerald-skinned knight (Ralph Ineson), who dared anyone present to lay a blow on him... as long as he got to strike back a year later. David Lowery's stylish, subversive take on the Arthurian tale co-stars Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris. 130 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

A different take on Arthurian legend, it does not fail to entertain. Deserving of far more love than it got at the theatres, it has one flaw: a lack of explanation. Most people hear King Arthur and think The Sword in the Stone and Excalibur which are more often than not amalgamated into the same sword. You have to be a bit more familiar than the average viewer with the legends. Watch this with Arthurian classics such as "Knights of the Round Table", "Excalibur", and "Merlin".

A better film than an adaptation, David Lynch leaves his brand on a film about a man-made messiah who is undeniably powerful. He adds on and alters more than he remains faithful to Frank Herbert's novel. It could have been worse, but it also could have been better. Watch and enjoy, but do not expect anything less than DL's overpowering vision.

By no means is this film perfect, but it is entertaining. It was FAR superior on IMAX. I saw it four times on IMAX! A video on YouTube shows the difference in quality. NOT a perfect adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel, but it does reflect his story better than the David Lynch 1984 film. In an interview he openly admitted he did not want to make a perfect adaptation of the novel. I think he described the source material as a kung fu adventure in space. I still wish Legendary and Warner Bros. had DV make book 1 into 3 parts instead of 2. FH divided his novel into 3 books: DUNE, MUAD'DIB, and THE PROPHET. However, I understand he wanted to finish his directing of FH's stories with DUNE MESSIAH.

Forget all the reboots, reimaginings, remakes, etc. Unless studios decide to stick closer to the source material this is as good as it gets. No point in watching modern monster films.

Much better than the JW Cut. However, I will criticize that the DC films were made without direction. My opinion is the films should have been made as follows: SUPERMAN BATMAN WONDER WOMAN AQUAMAN GREEN LANTERN FLASH MARTIAN MANHUNTER JUSTICE LEAGUE

As a child, I thought it was the best film I ever saw. As an adult, I have complaints . . . Animation, art, character design, plot development, etc. It all could have been much better. Honestly, this film was a bigger mess than I remember. I know it had production problems due to executives interfering so I do not blame the cast or crew. Fight scenes and music score are about all that saves this from being a one star⭐ film.

Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Sheen, Denis Hopper, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Lawrence Fishburne, etc. . . . All in a spectacular film with a great story.
