Fishing in video games, whether the center of the game or a side activity, tends to be more miss than hit with me due to aggrevating mechanics or it being too lengthy of an endeavor with little reward. Dredge manages to keep things fresh with a myriad of ways to haul in your catch, a nice set of environments, and a persistently unsettling aura.

Outstanding rougelike twist on the game of poker. There's been an uptick of deckbuilding games in the past decade, and I have come to find that this is a genre that I like a lot. Balatro is possibly the best of the bunch for its fast pace, relative simplicity, and vast amount of options/variety.

A fun but unintuitive adventure

I had always wanted to play this series. After almost 20 years, I finally did with the remaster of Damacy. I had to fight the controls constantly, and that is usually a death sentence, but the core loop of the game is so fun that I was mostly willing to overlook its control issues.

I've always liked pinball games, so I was certainly intrigued by a game utilzing the mechanics as part of an open-world adventure. I imagine this would be a painful game for those intending to complete everything there is to do, but for a simple romp to the game's conclusion, it's a lot of fun.
