I purchased three of these for two purposes. First, they are alarm clocks for my children. It's easy enough to set them for that purpose and they work well enough. Second, to stream music using Google Play Music family. It works well enough for that as well (as soon as I upgraded my router to get WiFi across the whole house). Each kid needed a Google account to voice match them to their speaker, easy enough to set up - it recognizes their voices just fine, then add that account to the Google family profile.
Does it include everything the OEM Google stuff does? No. It's it good enough to get a speaker each of them can play music on in their rooms easily with decent sound? Yep. Will there be an update? Who knows.
Setup wasn't always clear on the unit. It will probably need to connect to the internet and update before the Google app is able to finish the installation. That wasn't perfectly clear. Once that's done, it works well.
