I learned years ago when selling appliances at Best Buy (believe it or not) that 2 things are a must with a new large appliance purchase. One of them is new fill hoses. The other is the extended warranty.
Now that I am retired I still live by those lessons. Happy to have the steel hoses, especially when weather gets cold enough to freeze indoor pipes.

I must say that this is one time when I actually had to read the owner's manual before I could begin to wash my stuff. The machine looked so spiffy at first. Then when I looked more closely at the dials and the button and the lights I was a little mystified. Completely new to me. Where to start? How do I make it turn on?
Aha! Read the manual. Now that I get it I am enjoying my new machine. It's much bigger than anything I have had before. It works fine.

open box washers does this mean they are damaged. do they still have a warrantee?
Open box can mean several things. They might be store floor models. They might be returns for reasons other than damage like size or cost, electrical wiring, etc. They might be scratch and dent. If they are refurbished that should be indicated. Unless otherwise stipulated the warranty ought to be good as if new because they are new. At least that's the way it was when I was selling appliances in BB about 12 years ago.
