Solid picture quality, especially for what you pay. Not all the bells and whistles of high end brand TVs, but pretty darn close. This brand is getting better each year for the value it offers to consumers.

A field trip to Europe with his classmates was supposed to provide Peter Parker (Tom Holland) with a well-earned respite from his superhero alter-ego of Spider-Man. But when he's recruited by superspy Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Spidey is soon back on the job and teaming up with the InchMysterioInch-us Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal)-apparently a hero from an alternate universe-for a dangerous mission that may not be what it appears. Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei co-star in this fun-filled Marvel sequel.

Really cool way to tie up the previous Spider-Man film as well as showing the consequences of Endgame on a more personal-level sort of way. Any Spider-Man fan won’t be surprised by the “twist” but I still thought it was well done. HUGE surprise to end the film on that will lead into big changes for the next film.

In a world where Brooklyn teen Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) got that fateful radioactive spider bite-and the mantle of Spider-Man-the use of a particle accelerator by the Kingpin (Liev Schreiber) is causing existence to fissure. As alternate-dimension Spideys like Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), and Spider-Ham (John Mulaney) pile into his reality, can they help Miles undo the chaos? Oscar-winning animated effort also stars the voices of Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry. 117 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Mix of Great and Lousy
on May 3, 2019
Posted by: apb86
from Mesa, AZ
Been following these TCL 6 series for awhile, and read about some improvements with the 75 inch. I was optimistic enough to try it out for myself. Swing and a miss, unfortunately.
Picture quality is, overall, very good... when it *is* good. Blacks are deep and solid, and color and processing are pretty nice, and I’m picky. BUT, there are instances where this set’s limitations are all too readily apparent. Quality control is still an issue — I don’t have the large vertical bands like a host of users found with the smaller panels, but I do have a fairly obvious DSE. Also, there are spots and dots, corresponding I assume to the dimming zones or LED backlight portion of the panel. Most are faint, but there are a couple I can see in almost all content types (dark, midrange, light, color, etc). And then you can’t unsee it. When these combined issues show up, it can all but ruin the beautiful picture you were just enjoying. I’ve also got a stray diagonal beam of light about 6-8 inches in length coming out of the bottom corner on mine. Gets more distracting the more I’m watching content.
Aside from the picture quality issues, which are disappointing enough, I’ve also found that the Roku system just feels and looks clunky compared to others, whether built in (like Samsung Tizen or LG WebOS), or separate streaming boxes like AppleTV. The TV body sits lower too, so I can’t place a soundbar below it without blocking the signal receiver... and spamming buttons trying to get something to happen on a remote as cheap as the included one is in fact even less fun than it sounds. And my goodness, the legs on this thing are HUGE. It hangs off the front and back of my media stand (which isn’t a fault per se of the TV itself, but be sure to look closely for measurements before trying to set it up). It is nice having a TV with such a large presence in the room, but it’s not pulling its weight enough for my tastes, or my wallet.
So, in all, this wasn’t worth the bargain deal, weighing the pros against the cons. For some people it might, but I don’t want to roll the dice again and again on something like this 75 inch beast. I want a better guarantee of quality in both construction, design, and picture. It was worth a shot, but I’m going to be headed back to the main three brands (LG, Sony, Samsung) for the foreseeable future. Yes, every set/brand has their issues, but more often than not, if you’re a discerning TV or media enthusiast, you will be getting what you pay for. Back to the store it goes.

The greatest adventure of all time begins with Star Trek, the incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a journey filled with action, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind. The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before.

Very Nice but not perfect
By jmcu from Western, NY
4.5 stars - Excellent picture as you would expect from a high end TV. Great blacks, great whites, fast smart features, 4k content looks awesome and for a VA panel it has a very good viewing angles. A microphone on the remote...WTH
I had to take off a half a star for 1 reason - the HD content on regular cable is not so impressive. At first I was about to box it up and return the set. I watched a hockey game and it was terrible, adjusted settings and couldn't make it look any better, unwatchable.
A few other channels were not so great either, I switches to some other sports and they looked fine. Some channels are good some not so much. I gave it a few weeks and decided it was acceptable enough to keep the set.

I heard that due to the new AI upscaling, the more you watch it, the more it “learns” and the quality actually improves with non-4K upscaling. Hope you’re enjoying the set. I have a Q70R but am upgrading to the Q80R and have my fingers crossed!

Picture Quality if Decent
By damon05
I was looking for that perfectly contrasted, rich blacks, white balanced picture but this is not the case out of the box. These TVs are on the higher price side so I expected more. Compared to my cheap 2017 calibrated Samsung 4k 50in, it gets blown away. And to think that I will have to pay hundreds for calibration, I probably could have gotten more value with one of the cheaper brands. My friend's calibrated LG LED puts my QLED to shame. Don't get caught in the hype of QLED. Just save more and go for an OLED.

Samsung error
April 12, 2020
This isn’t to comment directly on the original post, but to correct the “Samsung Ambassador” who replied. This Q60R is a step-down in quality from the previous generation (which Samsung does every year, and 2020 is even worse). There is no local dimming support, which means the TV will not perform well in HDR, one of the biggest selling points of the QLED line. Furthermore, you said this TV contains “Wide Viewing Angle” and that is FALSE. Only the Q80 and above lineup has that feature.

Overall a solid QLED considering the price
By Mikey2103
It definitely surpasses its price tag, however, the most glaring issue in my opinion is the motion handling. You can’t expect too much from a 60HZ panel, but it’s quite noticeable compared to my 120HZ 8 series TCL. It’s quite a step up going from the 6 series to 8. The colors on the 6 series pop and you get a beautiful picture. I don’t think too many tv’s in its price range can compete with it. You can look at some Hisense options but I’m still concerned about their quality control and they are 60HZ panels as well.
TCL is definitely going hard at the bigger manufacturers like LG and Samsung. I found my 65” set as an open box for under $400 which you can’t beat anywhere. It just didn’t come with a stand but didn’t bother me cause I was planning on mounting it anyway. If the motion handling was better I’d give it 5 stars, but unfortunately that just ain’t the case.

Motion question
May 29, 2020
I see several comments about motion. Is it mostly obvious when you’re trying to watch or extrapolate content above 60Hz, or above 60 fps? Most movies and shows are 24 fps, and I know the “natural cinema” option switches it to a 48 Hz like signal which can easily interpolate 24, so less judder or motion issues. Just curious what the exact issue is, and if you’ve found any setting that helps. I don’t use settings that engage “soap opera effect” on my other TVs, so I don’t think I’m really using a 120 Hz panel to its full benefit/effect. Hence, I wasn’t sure a 60 Hz panel would be any different to my eyes, or for my uses.

The Q70 is impressive
By bba9831
I purchased the Samsung Q70R with the expectation that there might be little things that I didn’t like, or might annoy me, as has been the case with other TVs. I’m also an engineer working with electronics and image quality every day, and have a bad habit of noticing the little technical details that others might not notice or mind. All I can say is WOW!! The first night I used this TV, I was watching a movie that had a sudden and complete blackout scene on the screen. The dimming and contrast on this TV performs so well that I hopped up and ran to the TV because I was sure that the screen had turned off or lost power. Nope! Turns out it was the movie and my TV was able to become so dark that it was indistinguishable from being off. I also am very impressed by how snappy the menus are and how quickly apps load. The smart remote has buttons that take me directly to my favorite apps - Hulu, Netflix, Amazon. I never need to scroll through a list to get the apps open. And when I really want it to be easy, I can use the Bixby button on my smart remote to use my voice to open Hulu. But I’ve saved the best for last - I never thought I’d be able to say this, but I now have Apple TV BUILT IN to my Samsung QLED TV!!! This is really a love/hate for me as I bought an Apple TV 4K less than 6 months ago, but now I don’t need it at all. I am really get the BEST of BOTH worlds with my Samsung QLED TV. I can’t stop bragging about it because I’m still finding things that impress me about it.

Vertical Banding is terrible
By Mac1
I will start this out saying I am typically a Sony fan and I have had an old old-xbr52w4 for 12 plus years and it has been amazing. I bought a Samsung MU8000 back in 2017 and I was never happy with the blooming and black levers. So I wanted to get another television and it came down to the LG B9 or the Sony x950h. Then I saw a video for the new 65x900h and saw that it would support the hdmi 2.1 and I was sold. I waited for it to come out and finally on the first day of availability I ordered one.
Well it showed up and looked amazing on the unboxing. I got it set up turned it on and loved the meus’s and the android operating system. Got it turned on started to watch programming and I loved the black levels and the way the colors popped on the screen. Then I put on the NHL channel and it was all down hill from there. I started to notice that the picture looked really bad when they showed the ice surface with the game playing. I didn’t know what was going on so I did so I thought maybe it’s just the NHL channel so I put on the NFL channel and I noticed the same problems when they would show the sky or the gray background at the stadium. I did some research and found out that this is called vertical banding. I also noticed that the very edges of the screen had what’s called dirty screen effect. It’s even more noticeable when you playing video games, which is one of the main reasons I got the x900h for the PS5. I ran a video that allowed you to check for vertical banding during greyscale tests and it was terrible.
So now I’m stuck do I return the television and get another one in hopes that it was just a bad panel or is this a problem that is inherent with the x900h? Should I get the LG OLED b9?
As a long time fan of Sony quality I’m very disappointed with this television. I’m hoping I just got a bad unit and this isn’t a problem with the design.

I’d definitely exchange for a new unit. Dirty screen effect and banding are typically much more rare on Sony TVs than other brands. I’d also avoid OLED for gaming for other reasons stated. Burn in is “rare” but not as rare as they want you to believe, and if it does happen, it completely ruins the whole experience. OLEDs also have poor uniformity and vertical banding in near-dark scenes (almost the opposite of LED TVs), as I could see numerous jail-bars watching shows or movies with darker scenes. More distracting in my opinion than slight darkening of edges and corners, since OLEDs are marketed as prime viewing of darker scenes in dark rooms. Again, give Sony another chance. That’s my recommendation.

Maybe try a wired/Ethernet connection. My 2019 6-series had some issues with WiFi, but not wired connection. Or at least check to see if your Wifi has 2.4 vs 5 ghz channels. Even though it connects to both, it did seem to prefer the 2.4 channel. That being said, I got tired of manually reconnecting it at all, so I switched to the wired and had no more issues.

THX game mode under certified.
By Mobbmx
Great picture for shows and movies. This tv is the most misleading product I have ever purchased. I bought this for the THX game certified mode, it's everything but certified. Only has hdmi1.1, so that means you can't game in 4k at 120fps. Max graphics on Xbox series x is 4k at 60fps with hdr and variable frame rate. If you want to use this for Xbox series x, spend the extra money on a vizio px model, I ended up returning for that.

Not sure what the TCL support is thinking in responding to your comment, giving the impression that your set isn’t connecting accurately. You’re right, this TV “accepts” a 4K/120 signal but DOES NOT display it as such — it’s either 1440/120 or 4K/60. It’s an absolute FACT. Now, for most people, this is completely fine. If you’re dead set on 4K/120 gaming though, for sure choose another TV.

Can anyone confirm Atmos support? The 2019 models allowed Atmos passthrough to a speaker if played from built-in apps like Netflix. Some reports indicated the new sets would allow more options, such as external Atmos passthrough through ARC. Is this true?

Sit back and relax in front of this 75-inch Sony 4K Ultra HD TV. Its 4K HDR resolution provides exceptional detail and color contrast for brighter, crisper images, and its X-Motion Clarity technology shows smooth, lifelike motion without stutter or lag. This Sony 4K Ultra HD TV keeps wires hidden for a sophisticated, seamless appearance.

Wondering about Dolby Atmos compatibility. Answers seem to be all over the place. The *native* Netflix app supposedly plays Atmos content, but do other native apps like Amazon Prime or Vudu also allow Atmos to pass (to transmit to an Atmos soundbar)?

Does the X900F support HDMI 2.1?

As far as I know, it does not. Unsure what the other commenter is talking about. The X900H, a 2020 model, is labeled as having HDMI 2.1 support. The X950G has eARC support, unlike the X900F, which is a feature shared by HDMI 2.1 ports, but it’s not exactly the same thing.

Build the ultimate home theater with this Samsung 75-inch QLED smart 4K UHD TV. The giant screen lets everyone in the room see contents clearly, while the 4K resolution ensures images and text are crisp and detailed. This Samsung 75-inch QLED smart 4K UHD TV employs Quantum Dot technology to display over a billion shades of colors.

What does wide viewing mean compared to ultra

It’s a marketing gimmick. This TV does not have wide viewing. Colors and brightness wash out when viewed from off-angle. It’s common for the majority of LED TVs, except LG’s sets which use a different panel structure (but have poor contrast levels). Only the Q80R and above sets have actual wide-viewing that lets you sit off-axis without affecting the picture too much.

What is the difference between Q60 and Q70 series?

The Q60R has no local dimming feature, which means when you’re trying to watch HDR content, it can’t get the same level of contrast (deep dark sand bright highlights) because the entire backlight system (which is edge-lit) to the screen is at the same level. The Q70R tv does have this feature, so those movies and shows with HDR will be much, much better in their presentation. And the lighting system is evenly distributed across the whole screen instead of from just the sides. Essentially, with these two features, the Q70R performs better with more “pop” and brightness to look better in either bright or dark rooms. It’s a big step-up. Honestly though, other brands perform as good or better, and have even more features than Samsung, so I’d look elsewhere.
