Replaced Pioneer sub that came with "an all in the box" set. Pioneer sub amp burned out after several years of good service. This Polk sub sounds as good if not better. Can get a little louder and deeper in frequency the one it replaced.
One thing I suggest is that Polk make a dedicated LFE connection for surround receivers with this connection.

DVD recording minutes vary widely depending on resolution of content. Can be from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Main measure is 8.5 GB of data, so look at your amount & how long it is on computer before coping to DVD.
