Steven Spielberg's masterful take on the H.G. Wells classic stars Tom Cruise as Ray Ferrier, a divorced New Jersey Everyman whose weekend with his kids (Dakota Fanning, Justin Chatwin) is shattered by an alien invasion. As the decidedly unfriendly E.T.s and their menacing tripods devastate the planet, Ferrier bravely attempts to reach his ex-wife (Miranda Otto) in Boston, encountering the best and worst of humanity along the way. Tim Robbins also stars. 117 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

Incredible movie, one of my favorites. The 4k was good but not as mind blowing as I was hoping. Although it is not a colorful movie so maybe that was to be expected

I love natural documentaries and this one is second to none. Incredible picture quality and interesting content. Although slightly depressing as you discover the destructive impact humans are having on wildlife around the world

I had the TV for a year and was very happy with the product. Then, after one year, the screen would only show green and pink stripes. And of course this happened after the warranty had expired. Very angry that I dropped $1600 on a TV that broke after a year. I have two samsung TVs that are going on eight years each. Guess I should have stuck to the samsung.
Steven Spielberg's WWII epic has been hailed as a senses-shattering, realistic depiction of war, telling the emotional story of a no-nonsense U.S. Army captain (Tom Hanks), who, after facing the horrors of Omaha Beach on D-Day, receives orders to lead his troops on a search somewhere in Normandy for Private James Ryan, a lost paratrooper whose three brothers had been killed in combat. Also stars Edward Burns, Tom Sizemore, Barry Pepper, Vin Diesel, and Matt Damon as Ryan. 169 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Not much different from the blu-ray
ByJakefromTriangle, VA
First off, this is a fantastic movie. Hands down. I own the original DVD, blu-ray and now the 4k version. Unfortunately the 4k version is not much different from the blu-ray. Yes, it's definitely more crisp. And the sound is phenomenal. But they're still many scenes where there is a white glow and firery glow trail from fire's. The original DVD did not have this issue. Only the blu-ray and 4k disc have this problem. Also, there's a lot of grain in the 4k transfer. I understand it's an older movie and it was shot on film. But if you watch Leon (The professional) in 4k version. Which is a few year's older than Saving Private Ryan. You'll notice it's a lot cleaner with almost no grain. Personally I wouldn't buy the 4k version if you already have the blu-ray version. On the other hand, if you have a killer sound system like I do. I would definitely buy the 4k version. I give this 3 star's only because of the sound quality. The Dolby Atoms will blow you away.

Certain elements did not transfer well

I began watching this and was immediately impressed with the beach scene. However, as the beach scene started to get closer to the end there are a lot of white, washed out areas and the fire behind some German soldiers had long vertical trails that looked absolutely awful. I read that this was an awesome transfer and I am disappointed with that aspect. A little grain and off color is fine, but this was very distracting.
Elevate your home entertainment experience with this Samsung 7.1.4-channel soundbar system. Wi-Fi functionality enables remote control via a virtual assistant, and the wireless subwoofer and rear speakers combine to deliver an immersive audio experience. This 510W Samsung 7.1.4-channel soundbar system features Bluetooth connectivity for wireless media streaming from compatible devices.
I looked at the manual and didnt see any recommendations for room size, in particular the recommended ceiling height for the system. The vizio atmos soundbar gives a recommendation for optimal performance, so what does Samsung recommend for theirs?
