Big, rich sound from such a small device. It integrates easily with your smart thermostat. And it even measures the temperature inside your room. It’s really the most useful only if you subscribe to Apple Music. Otherwise, you have To “push” music to it from your phone. Be aware, this device is not as smart as others such as an Amazon Echo. It doesn’t learn skills, and longer answers to questions require you to look at your iPhone. But you can’t beat it for great sound from a small device.

We somehow managed to lose our AppleTV4K remote control. We looked everywhere and couldn’t find it. After several months of using the Remote app on our iPhones and Apple Watches, we finally decided to buy this as a replacement. Boy are we glad we did! It paired almost immediately to the correct AppleTV and works like a charm. It has more heft than the original and the odd glass swiping surface that the original remote has been replace by a sensible click wheel. Our only regret is waiting so long to get this one.

My at-home office has two desks; one for my WFH setup with a Windows laptop and two monitors, and a second with my aging 27” iMac. The Mac needed to be replaced but wanted to eliminate the second desk. I decided to try using a Mac Mini on my WFH desk to leverage the existing two WFH monitors without taking up much space. I debated getting a 16GB version, but I decided that my personal use didn’t need to drive as many pixels as a gamer or an influencer so it ultimate chose the 8GB version. Setup was a breeze and all of my Time Machine information from my external hard drive transferred to the new Mac Mini seamlessly. The Mac Mini is super fast. My only complaint so far is that the built-in speaker is very weak. However, I can use AirPlay to send the sound to the HomePod Mini that is on my WFH desk.

The Ember mugs are excellent. They perfectly solve the problem of trying to catch your hot drink during the short window of perfect drinkability before it gets too cool. Just set your preferred temperature using the app. It might take a while for you to learn through experimentation what your preferred temperature is, but one you know, you know.
There are two sizes. My first size was the 10oz. mug. It is slightly too small to hold all of a Nespresso Virtuo coffee, and barely holds 10oz. from a Keurig. I was pleased when they launched this 14oz. size. It suits all my needs so I recommend paying the premium for the larger cup.
My first cups where white. They tend to stain after some use. Therefore you might be more satisfied with a black or blue mug.
Be careful with the charging base. The two little electrical elements that power the cup are fragile. Place the cup gently on the base. Don’t set it down too aggressively or you can break them. You can buy a new charging base but it isn’t cheap.

what is the difference between the Apple homepod mini and the Echo Dot?
I’ve used both and I would say the Echo Dot is smarter but the HomePod has much better sound quality.

I read that the hand-off feature needs a U-1 chip to operate, which is why my 2 yr. old iphone XR is not transferring when I hold my phone next to the Homepod mini. Is this really true, and are there any solutions other than a phone upgrade?

The 2nd generation pencil is shaped slightly differently than the fist in that there is a flat side which allows the pencil to magnetically attach to the square frame of the new iPad Pro. Also, the end no longer comes off (and gets easily lost) because the new pencil charges on contact similarly to the way the watch charges by magnetically attaching to the charge cord. The 1st generation pencil does not work with the 11-inch iPad Pro or the 12.9 inch iPad Pro (3rd generation). They require using the new pencil.
